QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

WPIAL Class AA Roundup: Jeannette, Pryor top Brownsville 60-0 in romp
Saturday, September 01, 2007
From local dispatches
Games are listed according to the classification of the winning team.

It didn't take Terrelle Pryor very long to put the opening stamp on his senior season.

Try 11 seconds.

The all-everything quarterback took Jeannette's first offensive play 53 yards for a score, pacing the Jayhawks -- ranked No. 1 in the WPIAL by the Post-Gazette -- to an easy 60-0 romp against Brownsville last night.

Pryor didn't need to do very much for Jeannette in this Interstate Conference contest, and finished 3 of 4 for 97 yards and a touchdown, while rushing once for 53 yards and that opening score, after Brownville's onside kick attempt backfired.

Jeannette blows out Brownsville - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

When one team has more points than the other team has yardage, it's easy to guess the game's outcome.

Jeannette thrashed Class AA Interstate rival Brownsville, 60-0, on Friday.

Jeannette's defense held the Falcons to just 13 yards passing, but it was the Jayhawks' offense that made the difference.

The Jayhawks set the tone on the first play from scrimmage when senior quarterback Terrelle Pryor, ranked by several scouting services as the No. 1 recruit in the nation, ran for a 53-yard touchdown.

"Our lineman got good blocks," Pryor said of the touchdown. "I just can't wait to get on the field and try to have some fun."

Because the game was a blowout, Pryor left the game in the middle of the second quarter, finishing the game 3-of-4 passing for one touchdown and one interception. Pryor's lone touchdown pass came on a 57-yard strike to senior wide receiver Jerry Harris.

"(Pryor) makes everybody play to the top of their abilities," Harris said.

Terrelle Pryor's Recruiting Diary: Touchdown run in script, predicted
Thursday, September 06, 2007
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Jeannette High School quarterback/defensive back Terrelle Pryor is ranked the No. 1 player in the country by several scouting services and is being recruited by colleges nationwide. Throughout the season and until he makes a college decision, the Post-Gazette will periodically run a diary from Pryor, as told to sports writer Mike White.
Our first game was frustrating [60-0 victory against Brownsville] because all that work you put in to get ready and the starters only played about one quarter.

For those in PA...I'll be there in person. Hope to give a report this weekend.

Would you like to see Jeannette star Terrelle Pryor play in a game? Your chance is 7:30 p.m. tomorrow when PCN shows the Jeannette-Washington game live. The game, produced by Comcast, also will be shown 9 p.m. Saturday on Comcast's FYI channel.

Pryor and Jeannette will be on live two other times this season. FSN Pittsburgh will show the Oct. 25 game against Greensburg Central Catholic as one of its Thursday night games, and ESPNU will show the Jeannette-Yough game Sept. 14.

The Fumbler: Jeannette putting on a top-rated show

Jeannette (1-0) at Washington (1-0), 7:30 p.m. today -- Jeannette's season opener against Brownsville was such a blowout (60-0) that Jeannette star quarterback Terrelle Pryor carried the ball only one time and threw just four passes. This game shouldn't be a blowout, but that might be bad news for Washington because that means Pryor will get more opportunities to make plays. Winner: Jeannette.

Heard Tom Lemming last night running down the uncommitted q'backs in nation......when he came to Terrelle Pryor, noted great likeness to Vince Young. When asked who he would sign with, he noted that West Virginia and OSU were the two he would fit well with, but that him signing with one of them was not a done deal, that he could sign with someone else.

He's more of a 'physic' than a psycic. At least he didn't call Notre Dame as a darkhorse 'gaining ground'. Maybe after this week end's Claussen (the Pickle) debut, the Domers will enter the Pryor sweepstakes. Wouldn't that be a slap at the Pickle!
