QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Sick throw by Pryor right before the half...finished offt he two minute offense with a 26 yard pass threading the needle between two defenders.

28-0 at the half. Pryor three touchdowns passing and another rushing.

Just showed some stats on Jeanette this year. Outscored opponents 367-6 in the first half this year; 7 first half touchdowns last week on 18 plays (against a team that had only one defeat); and starters have only played into the second half twice all year.

Pryor is amazing. He plays with a bit of an attitude which you don't often see out of a QB. That stiff arm he gave near the goal line was just vicious. He is built like an NFLer right now and I can't imagine what he will be like after a few years with Lichter (especially since his school doesn't even have a weight room).

His acceleration is unbelievable also. I knew he was fast, but he gets to top speed in one or two steps. As a passer, he needs to work on his accuracy but he has a cannon and has made some really nice throws.

There has been some talk that if he came here, he should redshirt his first year. After watching him tonight, I just don't see any reason for it. He is not going to be spending 5 years in college. And I have no doubt that he would be a huge weapon to have playing either situationally (short yardage, goal line, etc.) and/or as a change of pace for a couple drives per game. We will be a real contender next year and you have to pull out all the stops. By the bowl game, Pryor could be a force.

Getting him some PT next year would also be smart because he is going to be starting his second year almost for sure.

Sorry if this post seems a little over the top, but watching Pryor tonight has me unbelievably psyched about 2008 to 2011. Come on Terrelle, make it official, you could win a ton of games at OSU.

Ohio State football: Buckeyes check out Pryor
Posted by [email protected] October 26, 2007 00:30AM

Jim Tressel, quarterbacks coach Joe Daniels and receivers coach Darrell Hazell were joined by basketball coach Thad Matta and assistant Alan Major at Jeannnette High School's final regular season game of the year just outside Pittsburgh. Pryor is also a top basketball recruit and has expressed interest in playing both sports in college.

<snip>

He won't be attending Saturday's Ohio State game at Penn State. Since he's still thinking about both schools, he didn't want to be torn at the game. He said he would consider attending disrespectful to Ohio State.

But he'll be with the Buckeyes in a week. And it sure seems like there's a good chance he'll find a home in Columbus.

Pryor stands out, absolutely
I just saw the future. The big question, of course, is the future for whom?

I just watched Terrelle Pryor lead his Jeannette (Pa.) Jayhawks past their arch-rival Greensburg Central Catholic 42-6 on a cool, breezy night at Hempfield High School's Spartan Stadium. The stadium was about equidistant between the two schools, and much larger than host GCC's field. It provided about 4,000 the ability to see the nation's top recruit in his last regular-season high school game.

Pryor put on a show, as usual, running for three touchdowns, including 88 yards on the first play of the second half, and passing for three TDs, though his prettiest pass, a 50-yarder, was caught just out of bounds.

At 6 feet 6, 220 pounds with 4.4-second speed in the 40 and a spin move that left more than one GCC would-be tackle grasping air, he looked like a man among boys. In fact, he looked like Vince Young among boys.

But the big question now is where is he going to go to college. Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Texas, Florida and Tennessee are said to be his top six.

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel proved his desire to land Pryor. He and OSU basketball coach Thad Matta -- Pryor is one of the top 50 basketball prospects, too -- flew over by private jet to take in most of the show. The stadium was abuzz that they were in the press box, and both posed for photos with some fans during the halftime break.

On the Thursday night before the top-ranked Buckeyes' biggest game of the season thus far, the Saturday night match at Penn State, Tressel carved time to watch what could be his future quarterback. As Tressel pointed out in a note that I sent in for Friday's paper, Thursday night is usually "date night" for the OSU football coaches, the one evening a week they get to go home early. But he figured his wife Ellen would understand. Besides, he and Matta left late in the third quarter and were probably back in Columbus by 10:15 p.m.

As for Pryor, after the game he was consistent in saying he had not made up his mind, and that he wasn't even going to the OSU-PSU game because he didn't want to create a buzz one way or the other. But he will make an official visit to OSU next weekend, after his team plays its first playoff game, probably on Friday night.

He is not expected to announce his college choice until January at the earliest, and has indicated he might wait until signing day in February.

Jeannette quarterback Terrelle Pryor turned in what might have been the best game of his high school football career Thursday night, and he did it in front of a crowd of more than 7,500 people that included Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel and basketball Thad Matta.

Pryor rushed for 152 yards on 10 carries and had touchdown runs of 4, 88 and 2 yards. He also completed 8-of-14 passes for 142 yards and three scores.
