WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

I have 3 words for Teddy this offseason - Find Jerry Rice.

Pay him if you have to but get his knowledge of route running, offseason training and defensive recognition. Rice's offseason routines are legendary and could only benefit Ted. TG's got more speed than he needs but he has a long way to go as far as getting in and out of his routes are concerned. Concentration and confidence should improve with reps and he'll need it with the Dolphins QB situation.

You are correct. His long strides don't help him when it comes to those short routes, he needs to learn how to be quicker the first 3 to 5 steps and shorten that stride. Everyone complained about his hands before the season started, looked to me as if he had some of the best hands on the team. He should be back next year with a ton more confidence, and be ready to turn it up to the next level.

Ted Ginn: Reason for Optimism
By Matty I

I told you yesterday that we would look into Ted Ginn's rookie season (as a receiver, not a return man) more in the coming days. And here is that look. Without question, Ginn's selection was one of the most controversial picks in Dolphins draft history. Because of that, I feel that some people are being very unfair to him after his rookie year. So let's take a look at some stats and discuss Ginn's rookie year.

Ted Ginn enters 2008 as the Dolphins #1 Receiver

Ginn has the speed to beat any defensive back in the league. ?If he is even, he's leavin'.?

Haha, that run back against Buffalo was just nasty! He eats up so much yardage so fast you cant even hardly believe what you're seeing sometimes. Its easy to forget how fast everyone else is on the field when you see Ted just blazing by them like they're walking.

Its so strange when you watch people run against Teddy though. When you watch these other guys who claim to run 4.2 forty yard dashes etc. they get caught from behind, but when you watch teddy run its like no on comes close to him. I'd like to see one video of him scoring a longer Td where someone is right on his heals. Even devin hester (who's amazing at punt returns) gets close calls a lot, but with Teddy its like he truely does have a deferent gear than anyone chasing him.

A play that really shows his speed to me for some reason is A) The punt return against psu his freshman year and B) The Texas game when he caught that slant on the first drive and almost housed it (Saftey had a huge angle on him).

Do yourself a favor and watch that clip of teddy catching that slant @Texas his junior year on that first drive... watch how he looks like he's practically jogging and he's just wizzing past people. I don't care who says what he is the fastest player I've ever seen atleast.

Another one that immediately comes to mind was one against Indiana (an away game). I didn't go back and watch the clip, but if memory serves me, there was one guy who was within 3 yards of him, and was 15 yards in the dust a split second later.

Called back on a BS call too... On Jamo if memory serves.

Teddy is one of those guys who I wish could have played at Ohio State forever. While one of the things I love about college ball is that there's a new guy stepping up every year, I miss watching Teddy every Saturday.
