WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

The beautiful thing with TG2 is that his route running improved tremendously over the year. If he continues to improve his route running, the sky is the limit. Wr's get their separation by running sharp routes. Jerry Rice had speed, but not TG2 speed. What made/makes Rice so good are his precise routes. James Lofton and James Jett were track stars that played WR. Both were fast and had solid careers. Imagine Rice's routes with their speed? TG2 has the speed, let's hope he has the drive (seems he has it) and the coaching to continue to learn the WR position.

If the kid worked this hard to get his sprinting form that perfect, I'm sure he'd be willing to work just as hard on his route running. He has known his entire life that he had a bright future, and has been working throughout to become as good as possible.

I don't see a good reason why that would change, especially with the expectations of Buckeye Nation and the rest of the nation upon him already. Buckeye Fans realize he is the main part of returning to the NC game, and the rest of the media also sees his limitless potential. He'll rise to the occasion.

I agree, I love what the kid brings to the table. I'm just saying that if he continues to improve, he will be deadly.

Here's to hoping that teams won't "pitch around him ala Barry Bonds" when he's returning kicks.

Keep in mind he'll probably be in on kickoffs next year with Wells gone, and those are much harder to kick away from the returner. Imagine if Ginn proved to be so dangerous that teams without a good kicker or coverage team would actaully opt to kick the ball out of bounds and take the major penalty rather than the high probability taht he'd run it back on them.

No way would they kick it out of bounds on purpose, but they may see an advantage in squibbing it to the last line of blockers--which is still ok, we would start on the 30+ every time.

I suppose we consider JR the best because of the yards and TDs? But I don't use those criteria for the best RB, which I consider Barry Sanders to be. I think maybe it is JR's entire body of work (not gay) that makes him the best. In that regard, I think Mili might be incorrect but only because I think he might be the best PLAYER in CFB by his Junior year.
