WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

what are you mean have i see him play, the guy was rated the #1 defensive back in the nation and named the defense player of the year coming out of high school. I think the scouts know a little bit more than we do when it comes to rating talent. therefore, i dont need to see him play corner to know if he can play. also, the guy is a superior athlete, what wr in the nation is gonna burn him, maybe edwards because of the height, but besides him nobody.

Donte Whitner was also the #1 CB in the country his senior year and hasn't played a single down at corner here. Jamario O'Neal was also rated the #1 CB in the nation going into this year and now will be a safety in college after getting torched by Manningham. Position rankings mean shit.

oh so position rankings mean nothing aye. well why dont you do your research for posting because you obviously dont know college football. ever heard of a guy named adrian peterson, he was ranked the 1 number rb in the nation and isnt to shabyy is he. hmm who else, every heard of reggie bush, also ranked the top rb nation when he came out, hmm i think hes doing pretty good also. scouts put hours of time into preparing rankings and do a pretty good job. enough said, peace

Thanks for taking my call, I usually stay out of shit like this, but you just proved yourself a moron. I'll hang up and listen as Mili proves my point. Enjoy the cherry flavored chicklets.

The one thing that I never see brought up in these discussions is - how valuable would a shut down corner like Ginn be to our defensive system. It seems to me that we play zone about 85% of the time, two deep and three deep. It would be such a total waste to have Ginn playing areas of the field and not on man if you ask me. Would we change our defensive schemes around to utilize him effectively? If not, use his playmaking skills on the offensive side would be my vote.

I have tried to tone down the profanity over the last couple days, but if there ever a situation that called for the use "DouchNozzle" this is it. Ginn was on campus and practicing at DB for 3 weeks during fall camp. If he were the best shutdown CB on the team, he would be doing it. Was he a good CB in high school? yes, but like so many other elite athletes, he is such a good athlete he was able to do it on athletic ability alone. He does not have the proper techniques down to even be second team right now. I think the coach's probably know more about what actually happens on the practice field than some scouts who run an internet service. Shut up already.

Louis Irizzary was a #1 TE look at him tearing it up right now. There are tons of #1 ranked people who are either busts, or excel at a different position. Go back to Bucknuts Asswipe

I don't know football, huh? And you do, because you blindly bow down to these so called experts? Like the ones who said Sam Maldonado was going to be one of the best RBs in the country in college, yet couldn't rate a single fuckin' carry at Ohio State? Or maybe last year's wunderkind Jeff Meyers who was rated by some as the best player in the country regardless of position despite being a center, and who now is not even starting at USC? By the way, Reggie Bush wasn't even the starting tailback last year at USC...it took him a year to earn it.

Any moron (i.e., you) can pick a few instances where a highly touted recruit makes and immediate impact, but that doesn't mean everyone who is rated #1 at their position coming out of high school will indeed be that good at that position in college. You are the perfect example of the part-time fan who sees a few highlights and reads a recruiting website and thinks he knows it all.

mili do you have a college education? because if you do it sure isnt showing up. i said that the scouts who make these rankings do a pretty good job. i didnt say there were perfect. i didnt say that every number 1 ranked player goes into college and tears it up. im saying that most prospects that are ranked high coming out do a pretty good job in college, everybody in here needs to calm down up in here. everybody is like taking in personal and stuff lol. thats too bad.
