I think Teddy can be an All-Big Ten WR.... I think he will be considered the best CB ever if we move him there.... Seeing his speed and watching him cover those "All Americans" in the Army Allstar Game last year had me dumbfounded, those guys never even dreamed of making a catch against him. I can see keeping him off the D for the rest of THIS year, but here is my question: Why the hell don't we have him returning kicks too? Mo Hall has been awesome so I'm not suggesting replacing him there, but Santonio has not done anything special as kick returner.... I saw TG2 as an upblocker on the kick return team! what a waste of the most dangerous man on the field. Imagine all of the time Ginn will have to get to top speed by the time the first defender makes it down field on a kick return. I know he returned a kick off for a TD in the AAA game, but i'm pretty sure he returned one in the Big 33 also. BTW, I love putting Ginn and Holmes back to return punts, can't exactly kick away from danger anymore.... Is there any doubt that Hazell is doing the best job of any of the assistant coaches?

My only knock on Hazell so far have been the WRs. Holmes has trouble catching the ball, as does every other wide reciever. Every reciever so far this year has dropped to many balls that were catchable.

He WILL run a reverse out of that formation before the season's over, guaranteed. They're setting it up, not wasting him.

no, but he showed his speed to anybody who doubted him that night. his first TD was just a go route where the QB tried to overthrow him. he had his man beat after 5 steps and was gone.

I wonder if we will ever see Teddy play full time Corner? He is so deadly on offense. I recall Tressel talking about getting him in the nickel and letting him "make a jump on passes" where you let Ted kind of free lance in the secondary.

He is special, no doubt about it.

OSU new that mich states kicker was going to put the ball deep into the endzone for no return. That is why Ginn was in there. That way, when they put him in later for a possible reverse on the kick off the others teams coaching staff thinks nothing of it.

Teddy was named Big10 special teams player of the week against MSU!! In addition to tying the OSU career record, Ginn tied the Big10 single-season record by scoring on his 3rd punt return this year. He leads the Big10 with 28.9 yards per punt return in conference play.

I think he's not done this year...... For sure we have to wonder if teams will start to punt away from him? if they do it , thats really going to suck!!! but I can't blame them. I would like to see Ginn on defense only if someone else can emerge at reciever. If Hall, Dukes, Lyons, Gonzo, or maybe even the two freshman coming in next year can step up I'd have no problem see'n Ginn on Defense. I don't think Ginn will be playing defense for probably another year though.

What does Ginn rank in the nation in Punt Returns? Would it be wise to put him on kick off return??

He's not ranked nationally because he doesn't have enough returns (only 8 and they require 1.2 per game to qualify, which would be 11 in his case). However, in those 8 returns, he's averaging 28.9 per return. The nation's leading returner, meanwhile, is averaging a whopping 27.6 per return. As you can see, he's ahead of everyone else, he just doesn't have the touches. He's also tied for the national lead w/ Hester (Mia) and some Hawaii guy for punt return TDs...

Well Next year you have to look.... We'll have Holmes, Hall, Lyons, Dukes, Gonzo,Hartline, Amos, and maybe another. So if Lyons or Hall, perhaps even dukes steps up I'd love to see him on Defense. He's not too big though, so IMO I don't think we see him on defense till he's a junior.

None of those WRs, with the possible exception of Holmes on his good day, come even close to Ginn's explosiveness. Ginn should be a full-time WR, return both punts and kickoffs, and if needed supplement the defense in nickle and dime sets.

i wouldn't be suprised to see him get a few snaps on D maybe these next couple of games with all the recievers at purdue and michigan. spot duty type of stuff, man coverage.

I would love to see him match up against Braylon Edwards. That would be entertaining. Not to take anything away from Fox or Youboty though.

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking about that. I think Ginn could shut down Edwards 1 on 1. If he's never open, it would be very difficult to get him the ball. Does anyone know if Ginn has had reps on the defensive side of practice this year, or is that waiting until after season? (I am not saying he should play a lot of defense, but if he came in on special plays, maybe like 3rd and long, etc.)

No way he stops playing offense or special teams, not when he has a touchdown approximately every 1 of 4 times he touches the ball.

Ginn was practicing with the defense at the beginning of the year, but is strictly offense the rest of this year.

No matter how well he can stay with Edwards, Braylon is THE BEST jump ball catcher I have ever seen. He'll go up and get a pass whether he's open or not. It'd be tough for anyone to stop that, even Teddy, unless he's got a 40" vertical like DFox.

Have him take some reps covering Holmes in practice. See how well he can cover him. If he shuts down Holmes, and looks good, then I'd use him like we did Gamble.

Right now he's needed more on offense, cuz we need as much help there as we can get, but maybe he could play some defense depending on who we are playing. If he can shut down a guy like Edwards for scUM...we need him there...if he can't...then use him on offense. No big deal. It's like an added bonus wherever you put him, just have him out there AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

The way Youboty is playing, if another one of our young corners can emerge(hopefully Underwood), then maybe you don't use Ginn on defense at all and just let him focus on offense. If he can learn some more routes and get open more often...who is the defense going to defend? Remember...Holmes lit it up early in the season, now Ginn is. A defense can't shut down both of them. (If we do force them into double coverage then it should open up the run game for MoHall and AP and even CougherUpper).

I'd love to see both of them running slants and crosses all day. I think it would give Purdue's and scUM's defenses fits...IF Smith can get them the ball...which I think he can.

You can't take him off the return unit. He should be returning kickoffs and punts next year. That's not a question, that's where he is most dangerous.
