The coaches said his job as a receiver suffered wen he returned kicks. He has a couple nice punt returns and kick returns with a few being called back for holding which happened well after the Ginn was gone, but he as also shown that he can be tackled by a fingertip.dragurd;1453769; said:I question the brains of some of Miami's coaches. Yeah I know they went to the playoffs but what in god's name were they thinking in taking him off special teams. He is dynamic and explosive which bess gives you none of.

For everything Chad brings to the game, he takes away Teddy's best attribute by being unable to throw the ball 40 yards. Randy Moss would look ordinary with Pennington as his QB. It just is what it is......
I thought Tedd really started to ball last year, and show he can be a high calibre receiver in the NFL. He can be a stud if he gets a legit #1 or #2 next to him, with a good QB.
I just don't know what people expect when Pennington can't throw a deep ball, and the rest of the receiving core is a bunch of no-names.
In the 1997 season, Marshall's first in Division I-A, Moss and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington were the centerpiece of an explosive offense that led the Thundering Herd to the Mid-American Conference title. Moss caught 25 touchdown passes that season, at the time a Division I-A record, and was a first-team All-American.[5] For the season, he had 96 receptions for 1820 yards, and 26 touchdowns. He won the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation's leading wide receiver, and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy (finishing fourth in the balloting, behind Ryan Leaf, Peyton Manning, and Charles Woodson, who won the award).

We hear the Dolphins will be staging an open competition for both the kick- and punt-return gigs. Despite his blinding speed, KR Ted Ginn Jr. has yet to win over the staff, while PR Davone Bess’ dependability only somewhat alleviates the reality that he offers little big-play potential.
