WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Ginn

I'm very impressed with Ginn! I'm also very excited that we're getting the ball to him more! That Reverse to Ginn was excellent even though it got called back. Right now Too many penalties and costly fumbles inside the opponents side of the field is killing this offense. I think we've somewhat found an Identity we just need to play smarter football right now. Getting back on subject Ginn is scary when he has the ball plain simple. We need to get him the ball more.

Not to play devil's advocate. But we only got the ball to him twice. Or should I say, he only caught the ball twice. He also had 1 punt return. So I don't think we are getting it to him anymore than normal.

Game Changing Recruits & JT

Ginn is just the latest in a string of game-changing game-breaking recruits JT and staff bring into the Shoe in the Scarlet and Gray. Not just that but he puts 'em out on the field of play early to make that difference.

JT Keeps on going like this and he'll have a better recruiting record than the immediate prior coach in no time at all.

Giving him the ball on a reverse is a testament to the trust JT has placed in Ginn. Holmes didn't catch any more passes than Ginn, and Ginn had more throws his way I believe (not sure on that one). Plus keep in mind there were only EIGHT throws. So him getting 3 passes his way is a pretty good number.

JT was squatting on a lead like he used to be able to do (in 02 and 03). JT also understood that PSU was not going to hurt them with any big plays, whereas he knew Indiana was at least capable of doing so. That's why last week we saw the homerun balls, and this week we saw very little.

Personally, I don't mind the approach to this game. We finally showed Jim Tressel football, good defense, takeaways, no turnovers, and amazing special teams.

We kept lining up in the same formation, but I would like to think part of that was knowing they would not have to score many points to win this game, and so they did not want to show off much of their playbook before the next 3 tough games.

good point Buckscum..... We shut down the offense with 8 total throws (which is a shame). Also Ginn did infact get more throws his way than Holmes. Ginn had 2 catches 1 drop, 1 reverse, and 1 punt return...... Holmes I think only had maybe 1 catch on 2 attempts (he dropped the other). Very excited to know freshman are playing! could help us out with big time recievers down the road if we keep it up!
