WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

I'm certain I read that the Fins fans actually boo'ed old Trint Green. I was found of his play while he was in KC, but having him in the playoffs instead of Huard was a huge mistake. I hope Miami will figure something out in regard to his gun shy play after that KO he took last season.

If Quinn become a great QB like Manning or a very good QB like Palmer, and Beck is a bust, then the Fins will be made a huge mistake, no matter how good Ginn is.

It will be an Old Testament kind of miracle if Quinn is ever as good as Eli Manning is, and you can forget about him being the next Peyton. The Dolphins won't be losing sleep over his performance because they, along with the ENTIRE FUCKING NFL were smart enough to pass on this dud and not spend a very high second round pick, along with what will be a top-10 at worst, top-3 at best first round pick next year to pick Brady "might not suck as much as Ryan Leaf" Quinn.

Ted Ginn is going to prove his doubters wrong the second he has the football in the open field. You can't teach or coach what he has in terms of raw athletic talent.

I odn't know if it is just me, but Teddy looked bigger in his NFL ddebut than he ever did at tOSU.

Its not just you, his guns are definitely bigger and he's added a little weight. No doubt he has plenty of size to play the position, contrary to what a lot of naysayers (read Mel hyper) would have you to believe.

The future of the Dolphins right there!

I've thought the same thing. Anyone know what his weight is up to? Seems that with that foot injury. He hit the weightroom to work on his upper body.

8/13 Afternoon Practice: Team is in shells today. Ginn lined up with the 1st team offense in practice. Cleo rolls right and fires a bullet 20 yards downfield to Ginn, but the throw is low and Will Allen makes a beautiful diving catch for the interception. On the far side of the field, Beck lobs two perfect passes in a row, one to each corner of the end zone. First he hits Michael Malone down the left side, then finds Ted Ginn on the next play. Ginn drags across the middle and burns Travis Daniels and Renaldo Hill for a 20-yard pickup.

8/14 Morning Practice: Green in 1st-10: Hits Ginn in stride on a slant, nice pick-up 2nd-10: Slant to Ginn, nice play by CB Derrick Johnson to break it up. 3rd-5: Another slant to Ginn, complete. Think they?ll run this play? When the Dolphins do, the QB can?t hang Ginn out to take a huge shot. 3rd-5 (I think): Slant to Ginn, Johnson breaks it up again. 3rd-10: Slant to Ginn on the other side. The rookie gets his legs tangled and gets up slowly. Seems to be fine.

Ya think Linebackers and Safeties are licking their chops with this sort of scouting? 1st round WR pick from THE Ohio State University running his skinny lil fast a$$ right into me on a slant...oh boy!

Hope he makes it through this season healthy :(

There's no practice for Ginn today, but he plays against the Chiefs' tomorrow night. When asked (Cam Cameron) if there was any aspect of the team that stood out on the tape that maybe he didn't realize during or immediately after the game, he specifically called out the special teams blocking and said that he initially felt it was ok but then after watching the tape he felt it was not a "Miami Dolphins effort". Some of these guys need to wake the eff up because the only way they're going to make the team is being good on STs. I've generally had a lot of respect for the Jags' special teams, but not nearly as much for the Chiefs'. I'd expect the blocking to be a lot better and for Ted Ginn Jr. to get spun out for some good returns.

I am really ready to see Ted tonight. The burning question is will he run one back or catch a long one to score. How will he do against the big boys? This will be his first time I have seen him since last January. It would be great to see him sore both ways. The competion just got bigger , badder, and quicker. I wish him success. GO TED !

Absolutely no blocking period for the entire Dolphins team. The special teams blocking is going to get Teddy killed. The Oline will get at least one QB injured this season. We have a very long way to go.
