WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

ESPNNews said that Ginn visited the Cleveland Clinic and his father said the injury should not affect him. They also said he is reportedly leaning towards the NFL draft.

Take it for what it's worth...

a friend of mine(legit one)said he was hanging out with teddy and he didnt discuss what all exactly ted said but in his words he just said ted was gone to the draft after he talked to him but obviously that was before the game. i still think ted goes to the NFL though.

Cute story, Ted could be in a very exclusive club:

Athletes, please celebrate responsibly
Peter Schrager / Special to FOXSports.com

Though reports differ, early word Monday evening was that while celebrating the dazzling touchdown score, the Buckeyes' most explosive offensive weapon since Joey Galloway tweaked his ankle. Within minutes, the All-Big 10 performer was limping off the field behind the end zone and into the trainer's office. He spent the rest of the game on the sidelines, hobbling on a crutch, with his ankle in an ominous black boot. The Buckeyes' human highlight film never returned. Ginn's final stat line? One play, a 93-yard kickoff return for a TD. No receptions, no carries, no punt returns. Just that one, lone play. And of course, the fateful celebration.

Apparently this doofus didn't even bother to find out what really happened - it wasn't Ginn's fault. Unlike Damon Moore, or Adrain Peterson, Ginn didn't hurt himself, freaking Roy Hall tackles him from behind and lands all his weight on Teddy's foot. You would think a 5th year Sr would have a little more self control.

Uhh, the guy just returned the opening kickoff in the National Championship for a touchdown. I'd say a little exuberance was called for. It was an unfortunate accident and I'm sure Roy feels horrible.

Here are some ideas from google...
  • Mild midfoot sprains usually heal within a few weeks, whereas more severe sprains may take up to two months.
  • PROBABLE OUTCOME

If this is a first-time injury, proper care and sufficient healing time before resuming activity should prevent permanent disability. Ligaments have a poor blood supply, and torn ligaments require as much healing time as fractures. Average healing times are:
    • Mild sprains--2 to 6 weeks.
    • Moderate sprains--6 to 8 weeks.
    • Severe sprains--8 to 10 weeks.
  • The length of recovery depends on many factors such as your age, health, and if you have had a previous foot injury. Recovery time also depends on the severity of the sprain. A mild foot sprain may recover within a few weeks, whereas a severe foot sprain may take 6 weeks or longer to recover.

I have source with connections to the team and he told me Teddy is gone. This was right after the game before the full extent of the injury was known but I trust he will still be going pro. He also told me the night of the NC that Gonzo was gone but I was hoping he was wrong about that one.

From a VERY reliable source, TG is gone. Most everyone probably already knows this, but this kid talks to staff. I hope this once he's wrong. :)
