I have a feeling you're setting your expectations low...

If he does go, you called it all along, no hard feelings (despite secretly hoping he stays). If he stays, you're even more joyous because you 'expected' him to leave.

Ah, the little mind games we play with ourselves as self-preservation.
not a matter of mind games for me, but rather believing what has been said by a bunch of people with connections to the program.

Doesn't seem like he has been here long enough to leave after this season. I hope he lights it up this year and goes high in the draft if he does leave.

I remember the first time he played and showed some of the moves we have come to savor. It was against Indiana. I turned to those watching with me and said "Cherish this, we may only have Ginn for 3 years, 4 if we are remarkably lucky - talent like his comes along once in a blue moon."

That's still the way I feel about TGII. If he does stay it will be a huge bonus, if he goes it will likely be after a really stand-out season. Either way, we should all be very happy. Of course, there is is the Ginn Sr. factor in this, wonder which way he wants his son to go - pro, or senior and graduate?

I think people are just assuming that he'll be gone after 3 because of how good he is, rather than anything TG2 has said in regards to how long he is staying. I specifically remember a couple different articles back when he had just committed to us that TG1 told TG2 he wanted him to get his degree, which insinuated that he would be staying for 4 years (I'm positive those quotes were no accident, either). I have yet to hear him say ANYTHING in regards to leaving early or hoping to have a "money year", ala Santonio Holmes.

I think it's quite obvious the money will be there for him when he wants it, much the same way it will be there for Greg Oden. And also in the same way, I think a lot will come down to how much more they can learn about the game from Tressel/Matta and academics that will dictate when they will leave for the next level, rather than money.

I honestly can't see Ginn coming back for his senior season. Troy will be gone, and so will some of the lineman. If he's going to be an early first rounder the kid would be nuts to return. Look at what happened to Leinart, it cost him millions of dollars.
