WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Zwick to Ginn

Does anyone else noticed that Zwick is having problem passing the ball to Ginn? He seemed to think Ginn can jump 12 feet into the air or something like that. The passes were either way to high, low or behind Ginn. Is Ginn not running the routes right? or Justin needs to have some one-on-one drill with Ginn to get their timing down?

it seems to me like they just don't have their timing down very well. you have to remember, JZ has been working with these other guys at least since February, if not for the last 3 years. TG just got on campus about 2 months ago, so they need to get used to each other. once JZ realizes how fast Teddy is, he can just throw it as deep as possible on every pass

I actually have noticed this and I think it's a timing thing.

I like the JT has incorporated the bubble screen into the playbook this year.

Roy Hall had a nice gainer on one against the 'Pack and I believe TGII caught one in one of our first 2 games.

I'd like to see Teddy pop a big one under the lights in Evanston.

JT credited a miss-run route by Ginn for one of the interceptions Zwick had against Marshall. That might suggest that part of the problem is Ginn not running routes as cleanly as he could.

I haven't noticed that Zwick is any more inaccurate to Ginn than he is anyone else. Especially against NC State, Zwick was horribly inaccurate. I don't mean to knock the kid, as there were plenty of excuses for it, and I feel he will be much better in the future, but I thought him extremely inaccurate in that game. Maybe I just missed the throws to Ginn, but I didn't think they were any worse than a lot of his other throws.

FKA is right about the NCSU game...Zwick was throwing behind many receivers, not just Ginn, and airmailed a sure TD pass to Hamby. That was purely nerves on his first road game. He'll settle down, and once he does, look out...

It is a shame that Zwick hasn't connected with Teddy effectively yet. But it is great that JT has got those plays in the package. At some point Nitro will connect with Glycerine and the explosion will be a joy to behold.

That was purely nerves on his first road game.

Not just nerves from being on the road, but he was being blitzed from every possible direction. That is hard on a young QB who doesn't have a 'feel' for where the blitz might be coming from and might feel hurried on every pass - even if he has time.

I agree he was equal inaccurate to all his receivers this week, but against Marshall he and Holmes were right in sync, and he and Ginn were clearly not.

Speaking of Holmes, gotta give credit to NC St for controlling him. Supposedly their slow DBs weren't going to be able to pull that off - although it had as much to do with the DL and aforementioned blitzing as coverage.

dammit ive been meaning to ask this since the marshall game and i keep forgetting. most of the bad throws in the first half of marshall were to Ginn. every pass to Ginn in the NCState game was bad also....moreso than his others.
