$10K for a harmless celebration? BS.
Sincerest form of flattery
LeBron James said that he got a kick out of Pittsburgh Steelers and former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Santonio Holmes' imitation of his signature chalk ritual during the Super Bowl. Holmes, however, is a little lighter in the wallet for it.
The NFL fined him $10,000 for using the ball as a prop after scoring the game-winning touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals earlier this month.
James' opinion of the fine: ''Did he [get fined]? That's disgusting.''
James approved of the maneuver.
''It was fun for the fans and it was fun for me. I was watching,'' he said.
''That's an Ohio State Buckeye. We stick together.''

Steelers' Holmes scheduled for marijuana hearing
PITTSBURGH (AP) ? Pittsburgh Steelers receiver and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on a misdemeanor marijuana charge stemming from an October traffic stop.
Pittsburgh police say they found three marijuana-filled cigars in Holmes' vehicle when he was pulled over Oct. 23. Police say they stopped Holmes because his vehicle was similar to one they were looking for in a drug sting.
Police say they smelled burning marijuana when they stopped Holmes, who was cooperative and alerted officers to the drugs.
The 24-year-old player is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. The charge carries up to a year in jail, but probation or a fine is common in most cases.

Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes might have been the only defendant Thursday to receive a hero's welcome in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
Strolling into the Downtown courtroom with his attorney to answer a charge of marijuana possession, the Steelers wide receiver was intercepted by Deputy District Attorney Christopher Avetta.
"That was a good catch," Avetta said as he shook one of the hands that snared the winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII. Holmes' response was inaudible.
The defendant caught more accolades from the bench.
"I want to commend you for donating your receiver gloves to charity," said District Judge Gene Ricciardi. "It shows you have a strong character."
Ricciardi then arraigned Holmes and released him on his own recognizance.
Holmes declined comment afterward to the throng of reporters.
"Oh no, I'm not surprised (by the coverage). He's the MVP of the Super Bowl. God forbid, they litter," attorney Robert Del Greco said.
"It's the Steelers. Is anything else important?" he joked.
