WR Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

If you guys want to see how incredibly underrated Holmes is, just go to another team's forum and ask where they think he'll be drafted. Some people think 2nd or even 3rd round.

I think that's natural for any fans who aren't intimately connected to a particular program. Just look at the "BP Awards" voting on this site--people were voting for players who they didn't know anything about other than that they saw their amazing statistics. When you do that sort of analysis, Santonio Holmes doesn't show up anywhere near the top of the stats leaders for wide receivers.

It is bittersweet to see Santonio leave the Buckeyes to make his mark in the pros.

He has conducted himself with nothing short of class every time he donned the Scarlet & Gray. He has been a remarkable contributor to the team each year he has played and great symbol for Ohio State in his personal life. Always wearing a smile whenever he was captured on camera, a snappy dresser yet a humble individual who shared the spotlight with his team members.

Santonio - we are going to miss you, farewell, thanks for all the wonderful memories and the very best of luck in what will be, I think, a long and productive career near the top of the pro ranks.

Once a Buckeye - always a Buckeye.

Do you know how good Derek Hagan is? Calvin Johnson? Dwayne Jarrett?

Holmes is better.

It all comes down to size. Holmes is listed at 5'11" 190 but he's probably closer to 5'9" or 5'10". The NFL loves Speed and size. Holmes is small and not a true burner so I expect him to be a late 2nd rounder, early third.
I think he's better than that but the NFL won't. They too often get caught up in numbers. Vinnie Clark had great numbers and couldn't cover anything in the NFL. Speilman's numbers weren't very good and he fell to the second round and he was probably the best Linebacker in the draft that year.

Today during the Senior Bowl practices, Mel Kiper was talking about the WR's of the draft, and when someone asked about some of the guys at the practices making their way up towards the top of the WR's, he said "Well, right now Santonio Holmes from Ohio State is the main guy, and after him, there is a significant drop off."
