WR Roy Hall (Official Thread)

Time to bring this thread back to the front, I believe roy hall is going to be a key part of why our offense will be explosive. While the running game will be spectacular with the oline looking great and how deep we are at RB, the passing game has been expected to be just as good. Think how important that 3rd WR is. They have the ability to expose a defense to the greatest extent depending on the skill of the opposing teams corners. Roy is also a guy you can send over the middle and will make tough catches. Many, including myself, are reminded of David Boston when we see Roy Hall mainly because of his phsique, but his playing style is also similar. Look for Roy on 3rd down when the lock down corners are focusing on Ginn and Tony, to be open for the 1st.

Couldnt have said it any better, I am big on Roy Hall. I think he will be a great 3rd and short wideout to pick up that tough 3 yards over the middle. I also think he could be the second reciever to put Ginn in the slot once and a while. He reminds me a little of Jenkins talent wise he just has to prove himself.

Big Weapon

Roy Hall is playing in position as a wideout. He is very quick and has good footwork. I look for big things out of him this year too.

From his showing tonight, he just continues to get better. He looks so much like David Boston it is scary.

I hope he gets plenty of balls this year because I don't see many college DB's that will be able to stip him.

Wasn't Boston more of a speed guy? Hall has never ran by anyone.

I don't remember Boston catching too many long ones, he was more of a down and out guy. Cooper (and co.) liked to use his frame for a safe assurance of a 10 yard pickup I think.

Looking at Hall last night I saw the same sort of style (using body/frame to get position) and his footwork was great in the drills.

I used to think Hall was slower in past years but he looks like he has been working on speed in the offseason. Everyone we talked to around us agreed.

I remember Boston badley burning Woodson on a deep ball for a TD... and then showboating like a punk

I had a feeling someone was going to bring that up. :wink2: I was at the big house for that game and remember it like it was yesterday.

Seriously, I can't remember another major play like that where Boston separated himself and went for the deep ball.....maybe it's just my memory or can you help me with that?

Good to hear about Hall, hopefully he'll continue to impress. He'll find his way on an NFL roster at this time next season, thats for sure. He's got the frame to be a possession receiver, and you cannot overlook how good of blocker he is downfield.

As for Boston, I always thought that he was a speed guy who blossomed (artificially) up in the NFL.

very true, taos... hopefully Hall steps up like seniors often do under Tressel. Robo looked outstanding last night.

Boston was a lot faster than Hall, even before he exploded with roids. In 01, Boston ripped off a 4.3 at 257 lbs (albeit steroid induced).
