BREAKING: Ohio State lands former LSU transfer WR Kyle Parker

Parker's college career in Baton Rouge has been defined by perseverance. A native of Lucas, Texas, and a product of Lovejoy High School, he arrived at LSU as a four-star prospect in the 2023 class. His early career was limited by a crowded depth chart and injury setbacks. Parker redshirted his true freshman season in 2023, appearing in four games without recording a catch.

His development was further delayed in 2024 when a torn tricep tendon ended his redshirt freshman campaign after just four games. He finished that shortened season with three catches for 55 yards and his first career touchdown against UCLA.

However, the patience paid off during his redshirt sophomore year. In 2025, Parker emerged as a reliable offensive weapon for the Tigers. He recorded career-highs across the board, finishing the season with 31 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns. His ability to operate in the slot and make plays in space made him an attractive option for the Buckeyes once he entered the transfer portal on Jan. 1.

Parker fits the mold of the technical, quick-twitch receiver that has thrived in Columbus in the past, and his prior relationship with Hankton likely played a major role in sealing the commitment over interest from other schools.

2023: Redshirted
2024: Injured after playing in 4 games. His 2024 redshirt freshman season was cut short due to a torn triceps injury, which may have qualified him for a medical redshirt and an extra year of eligibility.
2025: Played

Do you think he has a chance of getting a medical redshirt for 2024?
He would not even apply for that until after 2027. It’s no guarantee the NCAA would approve the waiver, nor is it a guarantee that Kyle would apply for it.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Innis role next year as well. I’m all in on needing more “work the middle” operators
We need something from the slot…I think Innis can get the job done too but wasn’t featured.

One thing’s for sure. We are about to see rotation at the WR position. Thank goodness for that.

There’s no way we are bringing in two guys to not play.

Rotation of Smith, Innis, Henry, and now McCuin and Parker is a good rotation
