WR Chris Olave (1st Team All B1G, 1st Team All-American, New Orleans Saints)

Ohio State's Chris Olave labeled an 'unsung hero' for the New Orleans Saints after stellar rookie campaign

Ohio State wide receivers Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson made NFL history in 2022, becoming the first pair of rookies from the same college to top 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Olave caught five passes for 60 yards in the New Orleans Saints' season finale to finish with 72 catches for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games played. Olave's stellar production this season came despite poor quarterback play from Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston, leading NFL Media's Nick Shook to tab the ex-Buckeye the Saints' "unsung hero" in 2022.

"How was he 'unsung' as a first-round pick who eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving?" Shook wrote. "Well, it felt like he was overshadowed in this rookie class by his former Ohio State teammate, Garrett Wilson, in New York, as well as Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III, among others. Olave had a fantastic year while playing with three quarterbacks, and it's fair to wonder if he'd be regarded more favorably had he played with a more celebrated passer (sorry, Andy Dalton). I will say this: Olave won't land in this spot again, because he'll be too notable."

Change Garrett Wilson to Terry Glenn and I could stipulate.

So many great guys have just exploded with the current offense it's hard to say who would have been great in it. Imagine Paul Warfield running in this Offense! Speed kills.

Pulled a Prescott Burgess there... looks like he spiked the ball without having been touched down by contact. Vonn Bell certainly seemed to think so at least. Someone needs to remind Olave that the NFL rulebook is different.

i thought the same thing in real time but on replay i believe the Carolina CB contacted him as he went into his dive so by rule hes down. but your point is still valid.

Guarantee Chris and Garrett had a huge laugh on the phone today talking some shit to each other. We had both these guys and JSN on the roster same damn time and couldn't figure out how to win a Natty.

Ya know, I'm really tired of being able to write that shit about the talent we amass.
