The Badgers of Wisconsin on Sunday the 22nd avenged a loss earlier this season against the Buckeyes beating them solidly on their own turf 3-0.
The 10th ranked Badgers now stand at 22-6 overall & 14-4 in the Big 10. The Buckeyes fall to 22-8 overall and 11-7 in the Big 10.

Valeria León with her 16 digs moved her career total to 1,193 which now places her at #9 in OSU history. Taylor Sandbothe continued her march to the all-time record category as well with three (3) more blocks. She currently stands at 8th overall in Buckeyes history with 397.

Between Sandbothe and fellow blocker Tyler Richardson they amassed 17 kills for an efficiency combination of .432 (17-1-37). Sandbothe would have nine of those kills while Richardson would contribute the remainder of 8.

Elizabeth Campbell began to shine in the second set. She dominated offensively for the Buckeyes with 12 put-aways on 15 attempts with a solo error. Campbell’s surge put the Buckeyes in it at 16-14 before the Badgers exploded closing it out at 25-16.

The Badgers played strong and consistently. This, we know, is what is needed for a victory. The Buckeyes inconsistency, unfortunately, was on display. There were spurts as mentioned above. But overall the Buckeyes appeared to be the weaker team of the two – which was not the case back on September 27th when they pulled a victory in a hard fought match 3-2.

The Buckeyes now move onto Minnesota on November 25th in Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are tough. They are 24-4 overall and 16-2 in the Big 10 …. And, oh, by the way, the are #1 in the nation.

I smell upset. No tickets for the game – fine – catch it on BTN at 8:00 pm. Pull up a seat.

See you there. Go Buckeyes.
