Need some help on this. I am going on two different vactions this summer with a week between them. Is there any company that has service for say a month that I can use and a card for my laptop. The first place is a vaction house with out internet access so the only thing that would work would be a wireless card. So if you have a solution or know of a service that has one month plans please respond.
 
I believe Sprint offers wireless broadband plans for $70/mo without a 2-year commitment. It's normally $60/mo, or $50/mo if you use SERO.

If you're feeling corrupt, they offer a 30-day money back trial.

Free wireless access is readily available. Think starbucks or any coffee shop. My internet connection is down now and I am "borrowing" bandwidth from my neighbor. You just have to ask around, or search for local unsecure networks.

While certain areas vary, in general Sprint's network is much more complete and has more high-speed areas, especially in Ohio.

If you aren't going to use heavy volumes of data, you can also get internet through a sprint phone and tether (ie run a cable) to your computer.

Many formerly-free locations, like coffee shops or hotels, now require memberships or passwords to access their networks. It always takes a few tries to find an unprotected signal when I stop off the highway for a lunchbreak (ie on photoshoots).

BW3s is usually WiFi friendly (free)

If the only place you use Wi-Fi outside of home or office is Starbucks, you don't need a Wi-Fi detector. But if you're a dedicated hotspot maven, it's time to consider one of these little gadgets that can zero in on a Wi-Fi signal and lead you straight to the source.

This is an article done a couple years ago, it is actually fun to go out and be an all out lurker for WiFi. There are several spots in my neighborhood alone where I can surf for free in my car. All you need is a detector and go to popular places and scan for WiFi (starbucks, BW3s, malls, library etc.)

Scratch that, $30/mo. for 2 years, national coverage, heavy Rev.A speed coverage in ohio. :groove:

Just got the wireless set up today. Might invest in an external antenna, but here's my speed currently:

544 up, 116 down (kbps)
