Windsor, Canada next weekend

There is only one casino, and as far as clubs, just follow the crowds to wherever-nowhere that is "can't miss". Cheetah's and jason's are both primo strip clubs-and more affordable than American clubs too-the girls make their $$$ from cheap lap dances, but don't get tipped on stage.

You can't go wrong in Windsor. Love the place... plus, playing with Canadian money feels a little like playing monopoly.
I heard you don't have to exchange. The rate right now is pretty much a wash I read and it's not worth the hassle. I don't know how that goes with the spending though? Do they accept USD?

They will do the exchange at the cashier windows, yet I believe the exchange rate is below normal. I always just got money at a cash machine (which of course your bank does the exchange rate for you). Even with an ATM machine that normally works out better, unless you don't take out much money.

The casino itself is ok, nothing to write home about. Plenty of different clubs close by, and of course the "ballet." Drinks are not cheap anywhere you go, but hey, since you are 19 you really don't have any other options. Yet you will drop a ton of cash if you plan to get drunk and then go to a strip club. Even when the exchange rate was favorable it was expensive. Although overall the strip clubs are better and cost about the same as ones in the States.

If you plan to buy alcohol to drink in your room, Ontario has specific stores that sell beer and ones that sell hard liquor (hard liquor stores are province owned monopolies). Where you buy beer is literally called "The Beer Store." I think hard liquor stores are the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). Yet, once again, don't expect good prices (although cheaper than the bars). Canada's government sets alcohol prices artificially high to try and control consumption.

I really don't know how the Duty Free stores work if you are 19. That would be your cheapest option. You are only allowed so much though. I used to go back and forth from Canada all the time. I usually picked up bottle of Scotch on the way back. Yet I don't recall the age restrictions, and I have never gotten anything on the way over.

On the plus side, if you like cigars plenty of Cuban cigars to choose from. The casino sells them, and so do some of the bars. Again, not cheap, but something you cannot get regularly in the States.

In the end, it's a great time. All the clubs are good, and very young crowds. Yet expect to drop a fair amount of money. Like I have stated, even when the exchange rate was favorable it was expensive. I personally don't know anyone that goes there anymore due to that fact.

As far as the Cuban cigars go-watch out if you try to bring them back-the ICE agents in Detroit will randomly pull over cars to search and harass the drivers. I was grilled for half an hour the last time I went, and the agent was not friendly.
