Who will win the British Open in 2007?

Undisclosed injury forces Olazabal out of British Open

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland -- Two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal withdrew from the British Open on Tuesday.

The 41-year-old Spaniard dropped out with an injury, but the specifics of his problem were not immediately available.

Olazabal was replaced by American Tom Pernice Jr., who was already traveling to Scotland as the next alternate on the list. Another U.S. golfer, Lucas Glover, was added to the field Monday when Japan's Shingo Katayama withdrew because of back and knee injuries.

Olazabal won The Masters in 1994 and '99. He has twice finished third in the British Open, including two years ago at St. Andrews.

Tiger sits at -2 after his first round. The leader (McGinley) is at -4. Campbell is in second at -3. And John Daly is having a good round at -3 through 13 now.

edit- well Daly took an 8 on a par 5 and is not back at even through 14...Achi Sato (gesundheit) is tied for the lead now (-4) and only through 6.

How about that John Daly? Yee-haw!
I think that he subconsciously doesn't want to deal with the pressure of leading or being in contention anymore. Especially a major.
Misses a two footer for bogey at 12 and he was d-o-n-e done. Just gave up on 14.

If the wind blows a little bit, Tiger may very well get his 3-peat. Otherwise, don't look for an American to win. I think it will be a European this year. Just hope it's not Sergio.
