What plays in Buckeye History rank with JackSaw’s Pickerington-6?

1) Jack's scoop n score
2) 85 yards through the heart of the south
3) Holy Buckeye

Those are pretty indisputably the top 3, I think. The rankings themselves are up for debate though.
I agree those are the top-3.

Holy Buckeye was iconic, and had the perfect call from Musberger, but there were 3 more tense wins needed to complete that perfect season.

I think Jack’s play is more meaningful than Zeke’s because Texas was so close to tying the score. Zeke’s run was fantastic, but 3 first downs were probably all that were needed to ice the game. The Bama factor raised the satisfaction level.

The Buckeyes need to close the deal in the next game, and then I think that will solidify the Pickerington-6 at the top of my list.

As long as I live, 46 Tulsa will never be topped. 34 fucking years. I actually teared up just watching it on this thread. I also want to second Jonathan Wells' 44 yard dagger to beat UM in 2001. It set the stage for so much.

The next two aren't in the same league in terms of importance, but I'm putting them here because they're similar to each other, awesome, and in honor of the deceased players who made them:

Such an interesting topic.

One way I see it is that the 85 yards and Pickerington 6 were similar so they will be next to each other. The Holy Buckeye is a little different so it will either be your #1 or your #3.

It's #1 for me just because of the emotions it still brings back.

Holy Buckeye is very unique because, that game as a whole kinda sucked, and that Purdue team was straight ass, but the play itself was magical and literally the entire season was just floating in the air for what seemed like an eternity.

It's just so different than the other two, and I don't mean that in a good or a bad way. It just is.

The tie against scUM is underrated. If they lose, I think the word was that Cooper would be fired. Of course now people would say, awesome, that's great. But really would it have been? Earl Bruce was failure. Cooper would have been a bigger failure (he was not a failure in 2000 when he was fired despite what many think). Who would tOSU have gotten? I think the word would have been that it's a forgotten program that will never be back to the glory of the Woody years. Cooper's 1993-1998 run helped turn the page and re-establish tOSU as an elite program that they haven't given up since.

Of the 3 plays mentioned, Holy Buckeye is easily #1 because it's the only one that won the game. If Ewers just threw an incomplete on 4th down, the Bucks would have needed 1 or 2 first downs to ice the game, but still likely had an 80-90% chance at a win. Even if Ewers threw a touchdown, it's still just a tie.

Elliott pretty much iced the game but in fact a time consuming drive would have been better.

If Holy Buckeye was incomplete, they likely lose.

It changed the score of the game but they still had to play defense and if Donnie Nickey had anything to say about it, we would have lost.

Gamble sealed that game with a late INT that gets far too little credit in Buckeye lore.

I would add that one to my list, one of the most badass plays and absolutely devastating way for the Peds to lose. I also won every quarter of squares on our big board at the alumni game watch and netted like $400, half of which went back to shots for OSU fans and celebrating the win...quite the night.

They tried to block Bosa with a running back. Franklin-ing at its finest.
