they were called bulletin boards then, or BBS if you like. Most of the old timers, if they are honest will say this.....



PORN! even in text of the time, it was all we had.

The other thing that was prevalent was information and the search thereof.

the first time I ever posted on a board was bucknuts when the Mike D'Andrea frenzy was going on. I lived in Minnesota at the time and was starved for any OSU information. The O-zone was where I got most of my info but the fact that it woudln't be updated for days at a time was annoying. I started posting on Bucknuts and soon realized I had a special gift for annoying stupid people.

I'm pretty much like the others in this thread, I was drawn in by the class of 2002's uproar that I searched the internet for places to find more information regarding the future of the bucks and then I was just sucked into the discussions, debates, and pointless threads, that it just became second nature for me to check the message boards every day.

Football recruiting. Alas, I am like Tibor in that respect. In the old days I used to go to the Ozone to see the Kurelic updates on recruits. It was free for a while, then when he started charging I needed to find free info. That lead me to Bucknuts and it's all down hill from there.

I was looking for information for my mother and came across a board that just cracked me up, so I stuck around and played for a while.

Here, I started posting mainly after I'd just moved. It's a little lonely not knowing anyone yet, and the people here felt pretty familiar after all the lurking I'd done. Kind of nice to be able to shove all of you in my suitcase when necessary - and nobody has complained about it yet. 'Course, it's a pretty big suitcase.
