Buckeyes will need to pressure the QB this week.

Due to gaffe on my part, we failed to run the season-opening edition last week.
But What Do You Want To See is back and better than ever. I hate that cliché but oh well.
Each week our crack staff, and our staff on crack will present a wish list of sorts, highlighting expectations for the OSU game that week.

Ready?

Chip

Interior DL play: Hill and probably Jones will be tested against Tulsa this week. The loss of Sprinkle has OSU very inexperienced at a position where recruiting has not been strong.

Better pass rush: Yes, BG was getting rid of the ball quickly, but OSU was not making the Falcons rush throws. OSU was fortunate to have BG’s WRs drop several passes.

More JT Barrett runs on passing plays: If the receiver isn’t open, take what they give you on the ground for positive yardage scrambling upfield.

JT Barrett needs to run a bit on passing plays that aren’t there.

Quicker rotation of the backup players: No reason to keep anyone in if there is a huge lead in the third quarter. The 2014 season is still very fresh in my mind; play Burrow and Haskins. Play the backup OL, LBs, secondary, etc.

Scott

A win: Can’t lose to this team.

A shutout: Defense only gave up three last week. Let’s see Tulsa blanked.

No injuries: Can not afford any with Oklahoma coming up.

Burrow: Get it over with early so Joe can get some more minutes.

Brandon

Defensive line pressure: It was hard to see against BG because the QB did not hold onto the ball long. OSU needs to pressure Tulsa and its high-powered passing attack.

Sound coverage in secondary: I think they are still working out the kinks back there as Lattimore and Webb work into game shape. A few missed tackles against BG could have led to big plays.

Offense keeps going: Keep the pressure going against Tulsa and don’t let off the pedal. The Buckeyes are running 6-10 deep at WR, continue to move them in and out while keeping the high-tempo.

Mike M.

Health: With Sprinkle going down last week, the last thing we need is anyone else being out. OU may have been embarrassed at NRG in Houston, but being there, it sure didn’t feel like UH manhandled them until very later. They will be tough in Norman.

Stop the broken record: Make it so we don’t all put in “defensive line pressure” next week. I know BG is a quick pass offense, but the young Bucks on the DL should still be able, on talent and technique alone, to beat these OLs they are facing now.

Weber: I know we all love JT and Samuel had his coming out party last week, but Weber will be the key to this offense throughout the B1G schedule. I want to see him continue to grow, power the football when needed, and I would like him to get into the end zone. Last week was a great game for the Cass Tech product, and I am excited to see what else he does.

Ben

A solid win with no injuries: We need everyone healthy when we travel to Norman. I would again like to see more of the second and third team play to gather experience. Just an overall good game put away early so we can focus our attention on Oklahoma.
