It’s time to put on the big-boy pants Buckeyes.
A formidable opponent in Penn State awaits Ohio State in a nationally televised game with ESPN on ABC’s top announcing crew.
This is a perfect opportunity for Ohio State to show what it is really is. With Big Brother and Little Brother playing in that state up north earlier in the day in a playoff elimination game, OSU has a chance to restore any order that may have left in the B1G.
Penn State is good.
Ohio State is better and needs to show it. Normally a seven-point win in a game like this will suffice. I think OSU needs to win by 14 or more.
The playoff committee will begin rolling up its sleeves and sharpening its pencil very soon.
With that in mind, here’s what we at tBBC are looking forward to in the Blackout game.

Scott
A comfy win: By 14 or more please
Return of the offense: Throw long, let Zeke run. The norm.
Stingy defense: Let’s stop the QB from running and stop bending on big plays.

Loud and proud: I have been a part of some of the largest crowds in Ohio Stadium history. I have heard it loud. Let them hear you back in Happy Valley.

Ken
A win: Defeating PSU will be so satisfying to me on several levels.
No injuries: No need to explain.
A coherent offense: PSU brings a very good defense; OSU needs to keep the Nittany Lions guessing with the play calls.
Efficient red zone offense: OSU trips inside the 20 may not happen that often; every possession has to account for a TD.

Mali Buckeye
Sacked Hack: Mobile QB’s have been a challenge for the Buckeyes, and the secondary is depleted. Pressure, pressure, pressure.
Stun the run: Penn State’s running back may be banged up, but they’ve been able to still make big plays. Time for Larry Johnson’s men to step up.
Protection: The Lions’ defensive line is phenomenal, and Cardale Jones hasn’t always made the best decisions regarding pass management. That, and the offensive line has struggled to be the cohesive machine of death that we saw last year. Time to put it all together.
Fulfill your destiny: Penn State’s legacy of throwing TDINTs is well documented … let’s add to that history, shall we?
Say it proud: Wear black And be loud. Nothing worse than being “that guy” at the big party in the Shoe … Wear black, be loud, and remind Penn State why Columbus is where other teams’ dreams go to die.

Mike
Complete game on both sides of the ball: On defense, even if they can’t sack Hack, hit him and make him uncomfortable to open up the defensive backs for the pick! The defensive line needs to show “gap discipline” and be stout against the run (don’t let Hack look like a Usain Bolt for crying out loud)! Defensive backs to be physical at the line of scrimmage with rerouting and jamming the receivers like they are in a fight for their life.
Stop fiddle farting around and get Ezekiel Elliott going early and often: Get the ball downfield to the WRs and how about getting Vannett/Baugh going down the seam (have not seen that all year really) for a big gainer. Stop worrying about who gets the touches, just make the touches count.
A blocked punt and a special teams touchdown: Ok, so I’m being greedy but this team has the potential to do everything I mentioned but has yet to show it. Saturday night should be the right time to put it all together while making a statement to the College Football world that Buckeyes are the reigning National Champs and favorite to do it again.

Joe
LB U: The Buckeye linebackers have played well this season, but I’m looking for a big game from outside linebackers Joshua Perry and Darron Lee. It’s time to prove who the real LB U is on Saturday.
Make big plays happen: Last Year Ohio State had 62 offensive snaps and just one play longer than 20 yards. The big play is huge in this game and could be the difference at the end.
Turnovers, third down and red zone: These have been Ohio State’s only weaknesses this season on offense. I want to see the Buckeyes build on last week and not surrender any turnovers, complete more than 50 percent of third down tries, and have above 75 percent efficiency in the red zone.
Welcome Gareon Conley to the pick six family: One year is too long to wait for a pick six. I want to see Gareon Conley take one to the house on Saturday.
Braxton Miller red zone QB: He made the most impressive red zone run for a QB in Ohio State history against Penn State, in one of most heads up runs in CFB history. I’d love to see Miller in the red zone as an additional weapon in the run game.
