Well, I guess it’s “put up or shut up” time for the Buckeyes.

We have been hearing a lot about how OSU plays down to its level of competition and only gets up for the Big Boys. The next two weeks the boys are as big as they come as OSU plays Michigan State and then TTUN.

OSU is solidly third in the CFP rankings and figures to be in with three more wins.
But if Oklahoma wins out and Notre Dame has an impressive finish AND Ohio State looks lackluster against Sparty and/or Little Brother, and then in the B1G title game, there is no guarantee OSU will be among the final four.
So what does all this yammering mean?

It means the Buckeyes need a good win over a pretty good Michigan State team.

In addition to that, here’s what else we at tBBC want to see:

Scott
A decisive win: Let’s have it put away by the fourth quarter.
A loud shoe: Let’s show the nation how loud the stadium can get.
JT returns to form: Let’s see 200+ passing and 75-100 rushing from the man.
Defense, clap clap, defense: Can we hold Sparty to 17 or less points and 250 total yards or less? I think so.

Mali Buckeye
Big names in big games: The season has built to this … a focused, intense, driven Buckeye team’s last run and final game in the ‘Shoe; Show them Ohio’s here.
Cooked: He may be hurt, but he’s still one of the best. Let’s see one of the Silver Bullets take one back to Zone 6.
Nothing crazy: Remember, MSU’s special teams are always a place for a trick play, and are the reason MSU beat TTUN. Do your job, specialists.
Braxton’s swan song: We’ll see something special this week and next, but I’m looking forward to No. 1’s best efforts at home.
That thing: Still haven’t had a game without a false start.
Heisman moment: Is this the beginning of this season’s huge run from No. 15? Or will Bryce Haynes finally get the recognition that he so richly deserves.
Standing ovation: This is a special group of seniors … I want to see the fans showing them all the love they deserve in their final moment in the greatest stadium in the nation.

WVa Buckeye
Rock the Shoe: Need the fans to be the best damn fans in the land. Make it so noisy that Sparty won’t know which end is up.
Feed Zeke: Take no prisoners. This is going to be an old fashioned slobber knocker and the team that runs the best will win this one.
Out of the ordinary: Feed Zeke, but take chances with the play calling when they least expect it. Let a Braxton throw on the run, let the Aussie decide to run if it’s wide open and run some middle screens!
Silver Bullets: Become the best scoring defense in the country, don’t let them in our territory not even once. Enough said.

Michael
Show who is the best: Get a big win. Obviously. But show everyone we are still the best.
Weather the storm: With rain in the forecast we must hold on to the ball.
Last game in the shoe: The level of talent playing their last game in the shoe this Saturday is amazing. Fans need to show them how much they’ve done.
Cook Connor: Pressure him, get in his face, hit him (legally of course).
Braxton Miller: Give him his due. Send him off right. Let him throw the damn ball.

Mike
W: First and foremost, a win.
Supremacy: Show how the superior talent translates to domination. Drop 50 on Sparty while holding MSU under 10.
Pride: Seniors and juniors who are playing their last home game leave it all on the field.
No binoculars: Don’t look ahead.
A call to arms: JT to throw the ball consistently and take deep shots. Of course the Slobs need to protect well against the Sparty D-line.
No Injuries: Self explanatory.

Ken
A win: The Buckeyes are getting so close to the end of the season.
No injuries: No need to explain.
No turnovers: This OSU-MSU game will be a slugfest. No need to aid-and-abet the Spartans.
No penalties: See above.

Patrick
Don’t let history repeat itself: Sparty has upset OSU three times when its been undefeated after Nov. 1. Total domination from start to finish.
Hit Cook: Pressure, pressure, pressure … bring the blitz early and often, force Cook into mistakes.
Heisman moment: Zeke has yet to have one, it’s time for his Heisman moment.
Throw: Braxton has yet to throw, let him throw in his last game at The Shoe.

Brandon
Play makers making plays: I want to see an absolutely dominating performance by Zeke, Thomas, and Miller. They will be the three best athletes on the field, make everyone know it.
Fitting farewell for Braxton: It is hard to put into words what Braxton has done for this program. I hope the fans give him the largest ovation we have ever heard during introduction of seniors.
Barrett taking control: Last year, it was the MSU game where the Barrett had one of his most dominating performances. Get the ball out quick and let Thomas go get the ball.
Defensive line dominance: The MSU O-line has looked pretty bad at times. The Ohio State defensive line has looked dominant at times. Make Connor Cook play the whole game with the fear of getting hit every time he drops back to throw.
Protect the edge: I think MSU is going to attack the outside with short passes to wide receivers and running backs in an effort to mitigate the defensive line dominance. Lee and Perry will have to fight through blocks and make sure they do not let the receiver get going. Bell and Powell will have to be there and clean-up without missing tackles.

Joe

Connor Cook Gets Less than 200: It’s happened three times this season and zero times since he has played in this rivalry. He has been a huge thorn in the Ohio State defense and they have something to prove on Saturday

J.T. Barrett throws Over 25 Times: That’s what he was getting comfortable for on Saturday. He had his most pass attempts against Illinois, it’s now time to turn that into big plays down field.

The Buckeye Defense Holds MSU To Ten Points: The Ohio State Defense since week seven has given up the least amount of points per game in the FBS. Their rushing average for opponents over the last three weeks is by far the best in the FBS in that time period. Michigan State has struggled at times offensively. I’d love to see the Buckeyes hold the Spartans to less than ten points.

Stop the Fake Field Goal or Punt: This could play a huge role in tomorrow’s game. The Buckeyes need to be ready for it and make the big stop.
