Well, this really sucks...

On Tuesday, I had a group project paper and a presnetation due. I had volunteered to compile what everyone in the group wrote and assemble it into one larger paper for us to turn in. I had Sunday and Monday off work so I thought that would be fine. Those two days passed, and I had only received materials from one of the other three guys.

I was scheduled to work Tuesday, and was due to get off work an hour before class, which is just enough time for me to get from my job in Springfield to the class at Wright State. When Tuesday morning arrived, and I still didn't have everything I needed from the guys, I realized I was gonna have to make a decision: I could go to work, and not get the paper done when those guys finally email their stuff to me, or I could call in sick to work, and be able to finish the paper. Of course, I chose to call off work, and at about 11:30 AM, I finally had everything I needed to get the paper done.

Fast forward to right now. I am due to go in to work a noon, and I have been spending all morning throwing up (for real this time), and I have to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do. Do I drag my sick ass in to work and try to fake being well? Do I call in and beg forgiveness? Do I go find those guys in my group that caused all this and rip their balls off?

Did you work Wednesday and Thursday? If not, just say it's the same sickness. If so, then it just depends on how sick you are. If possible, I would recommend at least going to work, so they'll see how sick you are, and send you home.

Very simple, you go into work and throw up on your boss. Then when he asks if you are ok, simply tell him today you are feeling much better than you did yesterday. He/She will send you home and no need for a doctor or anytthing

If I had counted all the times I called off sick and wasn't really sick, but then actually got sick by the time it was time for me to go back to work, it would be signifigant.

I'd go in, puke, and go home. Or, I'd skip a step and say "Still sick" and if they say some crap like we need a Doc. note or something, you go to the doc, cuase you're actually sick. Actually, getting sick when you weren't is a blessing in disquise

Thanks for all the great advice, guys. I knew I could count on y'all to steer me in the right direction!

I ended up just calling in and coming clean about why I called off on Tuesday. Fortunately, my new boss isn't a dickhead, and he was cool with it.
