vBook: Does Sutton prove his point?

The kid acts like OSU made an obvious mistake, but the truth is he was under sized, the #59 rated RB by scout and the ONLY two teams who did give him an offer were NU and Illinois.

At the college level it is all about size and speed. Every year there are probably 100 kids who go to that level who are undersized. One or two make it big (Jack Tatum comes to mind). Good for Sutton and I understand why he is miffed, but I am also glad OSU is not taking these long shots.

He might say that we slighted him, but the fact is that he was a scUM fan. Therefore, he probably wouldn't have gone here if both scUM and tOSU recruited him. He should feel just as slighted by scUM, and we all saw how well he did against them. :roll1:

Regardless of whether this is rush, rush and catch or all purpose yards I am counting on the Defense to have a great outing against NW.
From a motivational standpoint I don't really buy what Sutton is trying to sell. It sounds very much as if he is trying to whip himself up into a lather over perceived slights. Ohio State didn't take a look at him and tell him to go back to Akron. For that matter neither did sCUM or Penn State or other B10 schools.
Overlooked - no. Offered? Well hell if his attitude is that the Buckeyes should have come knocking on his door cap in hand I think he has some serious ego issues going on. He had the opportunity to try and make an impression on the Buckeyes and others, got the mailers, follow up on them! The fact that he did not says to me that he went with the only school that explicitly showed him "love."
He is lucky to have the opportunity at NW, and Saturday's contest excluded I wish him well. As for his rhetoric providing an inspirational boost, well, what of the twinkle it puts into the eyes of the LB corps? I would think (I surely hope) by now that they are plain sick and tired of in-state non-Buckeyes griping about how they didn't get a fair chance to play in the Shoe every other Saturday in the fall.
Bottom Line: Talk like Sutton's can work two ways, my guess is he gets a strong dose of Hawk, Carp and Boar-Hunter come Saturday afternoon.

:osu: :oh: :io:

I can't pass up those odds. I think he goes for 100 to 150. All he'll have to do is get by our LB's 3 or 4 times to put him near 100 yards. NU's offense will confuse our defense every once and a while and get a few big gainers.
