Vanderbilt 17, South Carolina 6 (final)

Lou Holtz just gave one of his standard "They can turn it around! Spurrier will coach!" speeches on the ESPN Halftime Show.

Yeah, or they could just end up losing to the school everyone in the SEC schedules for Homecoming games.

Congratulations, Vandy. You won a game that has absolute no importance for you and will ultimately be meaningless.

Your reward: another year without a bowl game.

Disregarding the class of the post, and addressing only the content: this game has more meaning to Vanderbilt, its team, its players, and their families than that for which you give credit.

Sometimes, when attempting to be cute, only ignorance shines.

Good game, Vandy.

Good game, Vandy.

What I meant to say was, in the long run, this win may not be enough for a six-win season.

They have to play a reenergized Florida team in the Swamp, angry teams in Tennessee and Kentucky, and no-longer-an-easy-win Wake Forest.

Besides, remember last year, after they stunned Georgia between the hedges, they lost four of their last five, with the one win coming against Duke.

I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win nor am I pro-Gamecocks.

Short run, I am impressed.

Honestly, I wish Vandy will hopefully wake up and someday wreak havoc ala K-State under Snyder.

I agree.

My only caveat is that with Vandy getting better I would like to see another SEC team get comparatively worse. God knows we can't have all the SEC teams be world beaters (in their minds).
