I like how the announcers talked about Tiger making up all those strokes and being close to one of the greatest come behind victories of all time....:roll2:

Once again NBC did us a great diservice by showing only a few players during the last round. Not that anyone cares how the rest of the field is doing.....:roll2:

I'm really getting sick of the media only showing a few golfers, but sadly they are doing the right thing for ratings. When I went to the Memorial a couple weeks ago I noticed along with probably many of you that the crowds only followed a few groups. Being a former high school golf team member and still actively golfing, I respect the entire field of players and feel like I am missing out on so much when I only watch a few players play. I wish more people felt the same way. :(

I agree that it is annoying.. In the days before Vijay Singh became famous (aka, won his first major), he would near the top of the leaderboard several times, and they would barely ever show him, instead taking time to watch Tiger scratch his ass.

I think the whole Tiger thing has gotten way out of hand. He is obviously not golfing nearly as well as he used to but his status still draws him a crowd over twice the size of any other golfer's. There are so many other great golfers to watch why is everyone so locked into Tiger?

Yeah, all he's done this year is win the Masters and put himself into position to lead the US Open after 71 holes until his three-putt meltdown. :roll2:

Tiger playing poorly is still better than 90% of the field.

One of the better final rounds to watch...Retief Goosen's choke job was almost up there with Greg Norman's Masters melt down. Great theater.
i have to say that i agree completely, it was fantastic. I loved how all week long they said what a clutch US Open golfer Retief was and how his game fit perfectly and how he was going to become one of 3 or 4 to win 3 US Open Championships, then he comes out and lays an egg!

It was cool having Campbell celebrating and the crowd going nuts knowing it was over with two golfers still on the course. Gore and Goosen just fell apart shooting scores in the 80's on the final day. What an unforgiving course though. Everything was cut so short it was damn near dead by Saturday night.

I love seeing pro golfers shoot scores in the 80's. It was almost as good as the '92 Open at Pebble Beach. Never will forget the sight of Nick Faldo trying to chop his way out of a bush and Mark Calcavecchia hitting it into a tree. Classic.

People who are saying that Tiger has lost it apparently aren't watching.

If he could have hit any putts at all this weekend, he would have crushed the field. He gave away at least 4 strokes in the last 6 holes missing putts that he should have made.

I wasn't a big fan of his early in his career because of all of the hype. I've come to respect him more in recent years. The guy can flat-out play! When he's on his game, there's no one better tee to green. His drives on the back 9 yesterday were amazing. With one or two exceptions, his approach shots were just as good. Normally, his putting is incredible too.
