Ohio State reflects on a defeat to the Bruins and the future of the Big Ten.
Throughout the year, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conferences, but also from individual interview sessions.
All eyes in NCAA women’s basketball were fixated on Columbus, Ohio Monday night as the No. 13 Ohio State women’s basketball team hosted the No. 2 UCLA Bruins. The Buckeyes started strong but had two difficult quarters before trimming a 22-point lead down to six, ultimately falling to the future Big Ten side, 77-71.
After the game, head coach Kevin McGuff, guard Jacy Sheldon and guard/forward Taylor Thierry spoke with the media.
Coach McGuff discussed the issues that caused the Buckeyes to fall to UCLA, including problems with driving into the paint, a quiet night for sophomore Cotie McMahon and the last quarter surge. Also, how Monday night’s game is indicative to the future of the Big Ten, calling it the best conference in the country.
Sheldon and Thierry discuss where the Buckeyes have to improve to get better as a team, and Sheldon talks about her 30-point performance.
That and more on the latest Land-Grant Uncut.
