It was clear in the first round that Koscheck trained heavily on takedowns and takedown defense. GSP quickly adjusted and jabbed and left-hooked him to death. Nasty looking eye on Koscheck, couldn't even let his corner hold ice to it before the last round.

GSP put on a clinic for all 5 rounds. Koschecks eye isn't doing too well.

Not surprisingly (to anyone who saw the fight), Koscheck suffered a broken orbital in the fight against GSP. There have been several of these injuries recently - I think some of the fighters and their corners need to stop acting so tough and stop fights before permanent damage is done. I'm pretty sure that in this particular case, Koscheck suffered the injury in the third round.

Some of these guys are training for a single fight up to 6-8 months. Broken orbitals are fairly common. The UFC if anything protects their fighters more then any other fighting organizations. IMO a fight being called should NEVER been up for argument. A few examples

Lesnar taking a beating by Carwin only to submit him in the 2nd.
Silva losing every round again Sonnan,but catching him in a triangle in the 5th round.

Speaking of broken orbitals and fights. Heath Herring fought over 2 rounds with a broken orbital(lesnar) which occurred in the 1st but managed to fight the final two rounds.
