Tressel Gets Contract Extension; Carr Demoralized

The <a href="http://www.dispatch.com/news-story.php?story=186851" rel="external">new paperwork</a> will keep JT here through 2012 season - and it features compensation ranging from 2.3 million to nearly 2.7 in the final year. It's gaudy and exorbitant but deserved in today's marketplace of out of control coaching salaries. There was no official comment from Lloyd Carr but no doubt he is demoralized and being consoled by loved ones.<br /><br />This new contract has been in the works since the end of the 2005 season. Tressel is 50-13 at Ohio State including 2 Big Ten Titles, 1 National Title and complete ownership of Michigan.
