Well, since we obviously do not stand a chance in this game, there is no need for this thread...

Its locked for the time being.

I'd suggest to some of you that you start thinking before posting.

I'm beyond sick of the comments towards this team, the players, and the coaching. Its a chain reaction...one poster says something and then it slowly escalates.

If you want to bitch, go somewhere else.

Mods, anymore of the BS should result in an infraction or a BBall forumban.

Enough is enough.

This closed thread thing is working like a charm. :wink2:

Ohio State continues its quest for NCAA tourney berth

REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

Ohio State Head Coach Thad Matta does not mention to his team what is at stake in the Big Ten tournament.

"They're pretty tuned in with what's going on," Matta said.

It is actually no different than what the Buckeyes were facing after losing at Minnesota 12 days ago. The margin for error in getting into the NCAA tournament was closed, and there were at least three big obstacles ahead.

Two down, possibly just one more to go.

A victory over Michigan State on Friday in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament may be enough to land Ohio State at least an at-large bid in the NCAA field of 65. It would give the Buckeyes 20 wins, the last three coming against ranked opponents.

Matta is not one to deal in bracketology. He does not follow the opinions of pundits such as ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi, who has Ohio State as a No. 12 seed and playing Marquette in the South regional.

"I'm just trying to get us to keep playing good basketball," Matta said.

OSU thinking MSU, not bubble
Buckeyes could use a win Friday to solidify their NCAA case

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The Internet is awash in mock NCAA basketball brackets and raging debates about who's in and who's out. From all appearances, the Ohio State Buckeyes are oblivious to the conjecture.
Funny thing is, they're the only Big Ten team on the proverbial NCAA bubble as the conference tournament opens Friday. Wisconsin, Michigan State, Indiana and Purdue are locks. No other team is in contention for an at-large bid.
The conventional wisdom is that Ohio State's victories over Purdue and Michigan State have the Buckeyes barely in the field but that a loss to the Spartans on Friday would hurt their chances.
Ohio State coach Thad Matta said yesterday that he hadn't paid attention to how other bubble teams have been faring.
"I'll be honest, I've just been watching us -- our two games against Michigan State," Matta said. "We were in film late last night with the guys.

From the BN article 21 posted above:

However, OSU also headed west with some late-arriving karma after knocking off a pair of top-20 teams in the final week of the regular season ...

Who knows where that came from?
