Since they got the job done against Penn State, winning this game would be nice - but it's not a 'must win' as far as the NCAA tournament goes.

There are A LOT of teams with similiar tournament resumes this year who are on the "bubble." I am not so sure this is not a must win for the Bucks. Although we finish with Iowa and Northwestern, neither are for sure wins. I think if we win at Purdue we will be in, but I am not that confident with a loss (unless we win a game or two in the conference tourny).

With that being said, I loved what Thad did with the rotations tonight. If we can get half the contributions from Hill and Simmons like we did tonight I think we will be in it until the end. Sitting Buford for the last 5-10 minutes of the game was a good learning experience for him. Matta always allows his kids to play, but Buford was jacking up wayyyy to many shots early in the shot clock. Better shots will come for Buford and the rest of the offense if they continue to move the ball and slash into the lanes like they did tonight.

Purdue is a team that I think we match up pretty well with...I know it is tought to play there and we beat them without Hummel, but maybe this game against PSU will give us some needed confidence, and we have couple days of rest until Saturday...

I think Mullens can dominate Johnson, and Turner should be able to get into the lane, but our PGs will struggle with Kramer guarding them...Going to need big games from Diebs and Buford...

This team will go as far as its zone will let them in this game. I'm not worried about our offense, but our D has got to get better. I hope they take that momentum that we had the last 4+ minutes against PSU and take it into this game.

I have my expectations tempered for this game, but a win at Purdue tonight would go a long way towards making their argument for The Big Dance.

I'm more concerned with winning our last 2 games and our BTT opener than I am with winning tonight. No one expects us to win tonight. At worst, we split with Purdue, which is good for us. A sweep would be a bonus. Losing to someone like Iowa or Northwestern in the first week of March could be a killer for us. Losing in our first BTT game would be bad, too.

If someone gave me:

@ Purdue - loss
@ Iowa - win
NU - win
BTT first round - win

I'd take it right now. That would put us at 21-9 heading into our second BTT game.

Having said all that, it would be awfully nice to knock these bastards off, again. :p

JJ starts off with a dunk for the Boilers.

Good entry pass by Diebs and Dallas returns the dunk! 2-2.

Hummel for 2.

Turner stuffed by JJ.

Good D by Lauderdale. Airball Johnson.

Boilers get out running. Missed lay-in is slammed home by JJ. 6-2 Boilermakers.
