Tommy Ramone Dies at Age 65

Tommy Ramone, the original drummer for the Ramones, died from cancer on July 11, 2014, at the age of 65. He was the last original member of the group.

In the early days, the Ramones - particularly Johnny and Tommy - used to lie about their ages because they wanted to portray themselves as "teenagers" when they were really in their mid-to-late-twenties. For example, Johnny used to give his birth year as 1952 when it was really 1948. Something similar probably happened here, when all of the initial reports said that Tommy was 62, and later reports said that he was 65.
