That is surprising..I thought Bill Cowher of the Steelers was going to take that job...His wife and daughter live in Raleigh...his daughter is going to go to NC State next year and I think he either went to school there or coached there before...

I thought I heard on ESPN radio that the steelers were now thinking they'd re-up Cowher. Dont' recall specifically, though.

This is the same guy that stopped contract extension negotiations coming off a Super Bowl win. Can't imagine there would be a better time for him to negotiate. I honestly don't expect him to be in Pittsburgh next year but stranger things have happened.

A couple weeks ago he publicly denied having any interest in the NC State job. I think O'Brien is a good choice for the Wolfpack.
