No doubt. I said when they hired Beck, if they're bringing him in solely to recruit Texas and giving him the title in name only, it's a smart move. But, in no way should he have any hand in game planning, calling plays, or coaching QBs. Well, seeing how they're offense looks like a mirror of ours in 2015-16, only with much less talented players, amazingly, he handed Beck the keys. Tim Beck might be the most predictable game planner/play caller in all of CFB. That is a monumental mistake to make in your first year with a fanbase/booster network that is, shall we say, impatient.

it's scary how identical it is to our offense in 2015. like, instantly. there isn't even a waiting period.....just instant Beck.

Two fanbases have called it. Nebraska told us exactly what we'd see. We told them exactly what they'd see. Beck must have some magical ability to talk himself into good to great jobs. His resume certainly doesn't warrant them.

Eh I could see them not buying what we were saying because they believed it was because he wasn’t running the show here, he was co OC and was 3rd in the offensive pecking order. Much the same way we said “we’ve got urban he'll never let Beck do anything that will hurt us we’ll keep rolling”

Over confidence in an offensive minded HC can be a killer.

Basically he wasn't completely terrible at Nebraska because martinez was an athletic freak that would make him look good. Martinez's throwing motion never improving over 4 years should have been the red flag. He wouldn't even be looking at the receiver when he released the ball ffs!

He's a really, REALLY good recruiter. When you have a roster full of future NFL players, it really doesn't matter if you're a shitty play caller because you're going to out talent your way to 10+ wins a year. Texas is NOT in a position to out talent their way to ten+ wins.
