Thump

Hating the environment since 1994
  • Lots of things for me.

    1) Getting loaded and going to random parties on campus.

    2) Friday nights preceding gameday.

    3) After games, going to Wendy's with my roommates and then home to the apt. to watch the evenings games and Residence Inn post game show on ESPN.

    4) Buckeye Express lunches.

    5) Me and my roommates doing stupid shit.

    6) Harassing Boombox guy.

    7) Listening to the "Help is on the Way" bum on High Street.

    8) Hanging out on the oval on the first warm days of spring.

    9) Raging keggers at my old apartment complex.

    10) Going to the BW3's on Woodruff for their 3-9 happy hour and getting loaded while playing trivia.

Every single one of these things you've listed do not even require going to college ... you could do all of them this weekend if you wanted.

Really, the thing I miss most about my 20-something days are freeloading off my parents. :p

Did you not go to college?

Do you even know who boombox guy is?

Never said you couldn't do it without college.

Just said that's what I missed most about college.

Dunno - I may be in the minority here, but Im having a way better time now than when I was in college. Back in college, I worked a zillion hours a week, but didnt get paid for it (other than a scholarship). Soon after graduation, I worked a zillion hours a week, but got paid decent for it. Now, I usually work less than 60 hours a week, and get paid reasonably well for it. I run a group of half guys and half girls where the average age is about 25 or 26, so while smart and hardworking, they are still fun to be around. My gf is the same age, and that doesnt hurt either. Back in college, when I wanted something (or needed something), I worried like hell where I would get the money from. Now, when I want something or need something, I usually just get it. When I want to go somewhere - I just go. When I want to do something - I just do it. I have an enjoyment for life and a freedom now I never had in college. College was ok, but would I trade the life I have now for the life I had then - never in a million years.
