The Essense of Bill Parcells?

starBUCKS

BPCFFB League #2 League Champion 2008 & 2010
As some may or may not know, I work as an Entertainment Agent. Anyway, one of our newly signed clients is Bill Parcells. My marketing department came to me and asked me what the essense of Bill was? What he is known for...not accomplishments, but personality and perception. They came to me because they know I love football, I gave them what I felt... but, they wanted a little more. So my question to a football loving board is... what are a few words that could describe Bill Parcells. What is the essense of him?

Thanks! Greenies for productive responses.

I'm sure you'll get vastly different responses from people who don't care for him, but for me growing up a Giants fan I'd say the qualities I admired about him are...hard-nosed, blue-collar, tough, decisive, motivated, fiery, and he has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor I always liked. He was also great at spotting guys like Dave Meggett and Mark Bavaro, guys who could come through in the clutch (Bavaro) or have unique roles that could determine a game (Meggett).

Someone gruff and sarcastic who doesn't take crap from idiots/reporters. The kind of guy a primadonna would be terrified to play for (I could see the old self-absorbed "Leon" character from the Budweiser ads suddenly straightening up and saying "Yes, coach" if Parcells walked into the locker room and bellowed his name, for example).

Starbucks, did you get him this gig????

"I think I probably will do it," Parcells said. "The job description is to be the football operations overseer. We still have a little work to do, but I don't think it's anything major. I don't expect any real deal-breaker. I don't think there will be any major hangups."

I look at Bill Parcells as being organized, aggressive and militant. Organized in the way he goes about his business. Things have a way of being done, his way, and they should be done flawlessly or with 100% effort. Aggressive in that he wont pull punches either with his staff/players or the media. He tells it like it is but will not offer information meant for "his house." TO is a major pain in the ass and he handled that quite well. He also had issues with Keyshawn Johnson and did well there. The militant part of his is the regimental style he has. Everything clockwork, honorably fashioned and direct. He's the epitome of a leader.
