I was the only Texas fan in the middle of 70 to 80 Buckeye fans at the Jack Daniels tailgate party on Saturday night and I'd just like to say thanks to everybody for being so classy and hospitable. Even after losing a heartbreaker, nobody gave me a hard time. The walk up Lane st to High St afterwards was a lot different but I won't hold the actions of a minority of drunken asses against a town full of classy, knowledgable college football fans. Loved your town and enjoyed my weekend.
In 25 years of watching Texas football I've never seen a better, tougher set of linebackers than you have at Ohio St. It was, without a doubt, the toughest win I've ever seen a Texas team experience.
Good luck the rest of the year and again, thanks.

Thanks for the post. I am sure on you had quite a few drunken students on High street that let their alchol do the talkin'.

Thanks for the kind words and good luck to you guys the rest of the way. Hope to see you again in pasedena, if not next year in Austin.

I think it's not just the alcohol that "makes" people do that. I think that a mob-mentallity that "I'm with hundreds of other Buckeye fans, how can I get in trouble for throwing my beer can at this jerk?" that gets people to be asses, too. And after such an emotional game, many people would find it difficult to keep their emotions from taking control. It's just a bad three-legged monster.

I am in no way supporting the behavior, and I'm glad this Texas fan made it out with a "Thanks" to the Buckeye fans.

My dogs were going crazy with all of the sirens going off post game...I bet there were quite a few dumpsters lit up that night. Glad that nobody did anything stupid to you though and I hope no Texas fans ended up with empty kegs through their windshields

Thanks, and I'd like to add that most all the Texas fans I ran into Saturday were very knowledgable and well-behaved as well. I was pleasantly surprised and thought that our fans got along really well...only a couple of incidents and they were fairly minor.
