Marshall Thundering Herd

Marshall has started the season at 5-5 by splitting a 4-game series against Samford in Birmingham, AL, taking 2 of 3 in the Citadel Tournament, and losing 2 of 3 to Georgia Southern. Like the Buckeyes, the Thundering Herd played their first 13 games on the road in the South. Unlike the Bucks, however, they return home after the Tennessee tournament to host LeMoyne in Huntington, WV while OSU continues to play away from Columbus for the next few weeks.
The Tennessee Volunteers
Official Volunteer Baseball Site
The Host Volunteers started their season off in strong fashion by sweeping the Xavier Muskateers in 3 games. Subsequently they have had a rougher time of it, winning only 3 of their next 8. The Volunteer faithful have hopes for an improvement over last year's 26-29 squad, but have a difficult road ahead with games against defending National Champion Louisiana State, Florida and Georgia.
The Connecticut Huskies
Official Husky Baseball Site
The Huskies my well turn out to be the toughest game the Buckeyes have this weekend. UConn participated in the Big Ten - Big East Challenge last weekend and did quite well, defeating both Indiana and one of the Big Ten preseason favorites Minnesota after losing to Northwestern. The Huskies took 3 of 4 from Cal State - Northridge (a western power). They currently stand 5-2 on the season.
