tBBC Pick’em Week 13: It Has Come To This..

After Week 12, I (87 correct picks) am still maintaining a narrow lead over Joe (85), with Scott (83) and Charles (83) close behind. This is the final week to determine The Pick’em Champion. Things could get testy around here.
All B1G teams are in action this week to wrap up the regular season. To spice things up a bit, and to show that we aren’t provincial mid-westerners, we’ve also included an additional six nation wide rivalry games. Here we go…
Iowa @ Nebraska
Patrick: Iowa – everyone thinks Nebraska will be the one to ruin IOWA’s perfect season….but not so fast my friend. Hawkeyes complete their perfect regular season.
Mike:
Ken: Iowa – Hawkeyes finish on a high note with a win; Nebraska sits out the bowl season.
WVa: Nebraska – Cornhuskers can win against another top B1G game and play spoiler for the Hawkeyes CFP chances.
JC: Iowa – Iowa will be too strong – but with a lock on the West they may be overlooking & be more interested in the games in the East. All the same I don’t think they will chance an opportunity for the CFP’s either . So Iowa…Iowa…Iowa…
Charles: Iowa – Nebraska’s disappointing season finally comes to an end
Joe: Nebraska – I’m going with the shocker here. I think Nebraska has enough to pull an upset against this squad.
Scott: Nebraska
Brandon: Nebraska – . The Huskers are at home and have had a week to prepare. I think they pull off the upset.
Michael: Nebraska. Huge upset pick of the week
Indiana @ Purdue
Patrick: Indiana – INDIANA got their first B1G last week and will get their second this week.
Mike:
Ken: Indiana – The Battle of Indiana goes to… Indiana. Hoosier offense is too much for B’makers
WVa: Indiana – Hoosiers roll
JC: Indiana – IN plays Hoosier ball this week. They should dominate.
Charles: Indiana – Indiana isn’t as awful as Purdue
Joe: Indiana – Indiana is going to take Purdue to the coal shed!
Scott: Indiana
Brandon: Indiana – Should be a blow-out. Purdue defense can’t hang.
Michael: Indiana. Indiana gets bowl eligible
Maryland @ Rutgers
Patrick: Rutgers – in a battle of the new guys, RUTGERS gets the W.

Ken: Maryland – I’m indifferent to the game, which means it will cost me the Pick’em.
WVa: Rutgers – Knights win and finish the Terps nightmare
JC: Rutgers – Rutgers will surprise …. if indeed this is a surprise!
Charles: Rutgers – Pretty much the same reasoning as the Indiana game
Joe: Rutgers – I like the fighting Scarlet Cannons to end the season against Perry Hills and the Maryland Polos.

Brandon: Maryland – I tried to think of commentary for this game but all I came up with is “blah blah blah blah blah”.
Michael: Rutgers. I think…kinda…guess so
Ohio State @ Michigan
Patrick: Ohio State – No chance Meyer allows Harbaugh to get his first win in his first game, OHIO STATE in a rout.
Mike:
Ken: Ohio State – Urban gets offense back on track to end the regular season on a high note.
WVa: Ohio State – Buckeyes bounce back nicely
JC: Ohio State – OSU’s offense is sooooo ineffective it is almost tempting to go with TTUN. But that would be a mortal sin. I have to go Buckeyes (with a prayer).
Charles: Ohio State – OSU will be angry and fired up
Joe: Ohio State – Shut the Front Door. You know Who I’m picking in this one
Scott: Ohio State
Brandon: Ohio State – I’ll pick them but I don’t believe it. The locker room is a mess and Urban needs to get everyone together and focused on traveling north. If everyone does not get on the same page, it could be a very long day.

N’western @ Illinois
Patrick: N’western – I’ve picked against them for weeks, NORTHWESTERN gets it done.

Ken: Northwestern – N’western is playing well this year, Illinois isn’t
WVa: N’western – Northwestern takes it to the Illini
JC: Illinois – Look for a surprise here …. I’m going Illini.
Charles: N’western – The kitties close the season with momentum
Joe: N’western – A Rivalry gone Purple on Saturday. Northwestern is playing well enough for Pat Fitzgerald to think about actually leaving this time at the end of the season.
Scott: Northwestern
Brandon: Northwestern – The Wildcats continue to win. Impressive season.
Michael: Northwestern. Surprise of the season they are
Penn State @ Michigan State
Patrick: MSU – I hate rooting for PSU but there’s little to no chance they win. SPARTY wins

Ken: MSU – This will be a slugfest, but Spartans KO the Nittany Lions.
WVa: Penn State – Can the Nittany Lions benefit from Sparty’s big win hangover
JC: Penn State – Here is the other prayer game …. I have to say Penn State and …. just say no more.
Charles: MSU – Dantonio is too good of a coach to allow the Spartans to look ahead
Joe: MSU – Christian Hackenberg makes a costly mistake that puts Michigan State into the B1G championship game.
Scott: Penn State
Brandon: MSU – Maybe Penn State will try to throw the ball downfield and make things interesting.
Michael: Penn St. Please, I’m begging you
Wisconsin @ Minnesota
Patrick: Minnesota – the ax stays in MINNESOTA.
Mike:
Ken: Minnesota – If you’re looking for good QB play.. turn the channel. Gopher defense isn’t too good, but it won’t need to be against Badgers.
WVa: Wisconsin – Badgers finish conference strong
JC: Wisconsin -Wisconsin will rebound.
Charles: Wisconsin – I just don’t trust Minnesota to win anything right now
Joe: Wisconsin – Joel Stave is healthy for this one! And Joel Stave is a world errrr umm… I mean Gopher beater!
Scott: Minnesota
Brandon: Minnesota – The Gophers deserve this win. Played a tough season but just came up short a few times.
Michael: Minnesota. Gophers win an ugly game
UCLA @ USC
Patrick: USC – USC healthy and gets the w.
Mike:
Ken: USC – Bruins will “coach” themselves into a loss.
WVa: UCLA
JC: USC – USC has something to show the world. Trojans will surprise the Bruins.
Charles: UCLA– The Pac 12 has been weird this season, sort of a coin flip here.
Joe: UCLA– Here comes Rosen. USC doesn’t have the secondary to beat the passing game of the Bruins and Mora’s team plays just a bit better defense.
Scott: USC
Brandon: USC – I don’t think UCLA, with all of their injuries, have enough play makers on defense to keep up.
Michael: UCLA: I like their defense
Notre Dame @ Stanford
Patrick: Stanford – Notre Dame has been living on the edge all year and they’ll finally fall, STANFORD ends Notre Dame’s playoff chances.
Mike:
Ken: Stanford – Notre Dame dealing with some injuries. Won’t be able to deal with Stanford.
WVa: Notre Dame
JC: Stanford – This will be a great game. I want so much to go with The Fighting Irish but there is a knot in my stomach that says Stanford. Gotta go with the gut. The CFP’s will get interesting after this weekend. Stanford wins.
Charles: Notre Dame – Another coin flip but I think the Irish pull this out
Joe: Stanford — Got a feeling about Christian McCaffery this week and setting all kinds of Stanford records.

Brandon: Stanford – I don’t think Stanford is that great but I think this is the time Notre Dame finally runs out of luck. Although Stanford doesn’t have much of a home field advantage type of crowd (it’s actually very lame from personal experience), I think it will help just enough.

Oklahoma @ Oklahoma State
Patrick: Oklahoma – OKLAHOMA is this year’s Ohio State. Team is getting hot at the right time and wins Bedlam.

Ken: Oklahoma – Sooners playing very well this year. Can we get their OC?
WVa: Oklahoma
JC: Okla State – In a game like this the world goes for what had been the past … The Sooners will get a “nice” surprise. OSU wins.
Charles: Oklahoma – Oklahoma continues their strong finish
Joe: Oklahoma – Bedlam is for Cowboys. The GAME is for true football fans.
Scott: Oklahoma State
Brandon: Oklahoma – It probably won’t be close. Oklahoma State will be seen for what they actually are these last couple of weeks.
Michael: Oklahoma. The other OSU dropped to earth last week too
Alabama @ Auburn
Patrick: Alabama – Sabin and company go in and destroy Auburn, ALABAMA by 30

Ken: Alabama – Tide too much for Auburn
WVa: Alabama
JC: Auburn – Want so much to say Auburn …. Alabama is everyone’s darling. Nick Saban is really Nick Satan! He & Jimbo are for the Heathens… & there are certainly enough of them in College Football today. With that all said I’m going with Auburn for the UPset!! What the heck!

Brandon: Alabama – You never know with these types of rivalry games but I don’t see anyway Auburn pulls this one out.

Georgia @ Georgia Tech
Patrick: Georgia Tech – could this be the L that finally ends the Mark Richt era? GEORGIA TECH with the W

Ken: Georgia – The Battle of Georgia goes to… Georgia
WVa: Georgia Tech
JC: Georgia – GA is GA …. They will rule in this one.
Charles: Georgia – Both of these teams have had disappointing years but the Yellow Jackets are awful
Joe: Georgia – It’s going to be hard to fire Mark Richt when he wins this game on Saturday. Just hate for a good guy to lose his job, but it is what it is.
Scott: Georgia Tech
Brandon: Georgia Tech. Georgia had issues with another, less-talented, option team last Saturday.
Michael: Georgia Tech. Not sure why
Florida State @ Florida
Patrick: Florida – FLORIDA gets the W and keeps their playoff chances alive.
Mike:
Ken: Florida State – This will be a very close, entertaining game. FSU barely hangs on in 4th quarter to get the win.
WVa: Florida
JC: Florida State – FL I feel is too much for FSU … But upsets happen. So in that spirit I will go with FL ST.
Charles: Florida – The SEC hype continues
Joe: Florida – Defense for days in this one….
Scott: Florida
Brandon: Florida State. I think FSU needs to ride Cook and Patrick to pull out the big win on the road.
