I have a lot of fun interacting with Buckeye fans on Twitter. There have been a pretty good group of opinions each week and this week is no different! I have finally gotten all of my family involved as my son @Phil__413 is participating along with Robbie @TheeRobMac, Patrick @SaintBuckeye, Debbie @debbiecat4 and Mike @dillow4fitness. Huge shout out to Mike for stepping in at the last minute and to the rest of the gang for some great opinions! Give them all a follow, please!

J.T. Barrett returned as the starter, the offense didn’t necessarily light things up but they were efficient and rode Ezekiel to the win. How do you like the direction the offense is going at this point?

@Phil__413 – I love the offense. Urban Meyer knows what he is doing, I don’t think he wants to show his hand too much in terms of schemes and plays and I think as long as we don’t make mistakes and we win games, we are succeeding. I’ve also believed since the post season last year that this offense would have to ride Zeke to the finish line and he has really been the most consistent part of the offense. I give the offense a B.

I've selected Ezekiel Elliott to be my @NissanUSA #HeismanHouse finalist. https://t.co/MiRObRTtY6

@TheeRobMac – The offense to me seems like its trying to find itself. Then they seem like that they are just going through the motions just to get the game over with and not get any injuries. I have this strange feeling that they will bust out from here on out. I don’t like how the offense is playing right now, but I feel that there must be a reason for it. That reason is rest. Rest for the home stretch.

Thats how you strike. Stop all that bs running up the middle

@SaintBuckeye – I honestly feel that productivity for this game was nothing more than what we had seen with Cardale behind center. The offense still looked out of sync and the turnovers were only forgettable because of the defense. Illinois’ defensive line definitely put up a damn good fight but Zeke and the Slobs continued to prove they’re gonna make any defense tired.

I truly feel like now is where we see the “sharing the wealth, and distribution of points and plays” go out the back door… we are into the meat and potatoes of the schedule, we have the possibility of 3 major match ups (Sparty, TTUN, Iowa) before we make it to the dessert (playoffs)… Zeke may need to reserve another night at High Park.

I'm just wondering… we have 14 points now and it's JT Barrett is a stud, but if it was Cardale with 14 points we under performed.

@debbiecat4 – Returning from his one-game suspension, J.T. seemed a bit tentative at first. And though the Bucks scored the same number of points in each half, the first half seemed to be in slow motion. The offense was efficient, but not quite what we’ve come to expect from our beloved SLOBS. They seemed almost sluggish, like on a half-second delay. Something just seems “off”… and I hope they figure it out before next week. Maybe it was a touch of disappointment in their leader. Maybe not. Whatever it is, they need to snap out of it before Sparty comes to town!

The pace picked up in the second half, or maybe that was just the adrenaline rush we all seem to get whenever Zeke gets the ball (or makes a block, or just smiles at the cameras). He continues to prove that he’s a force to be reckoned with and a Heisman contender. The O-Line had some great blocks in the second half, opening the path for Zeke’s two TDs. Some great runs from Jalin Marshall, and another great showing from Mike Thomas who has me convinced that his #1 draft pick uncle passed those genes along.

Decent showing, but the REAL test is ahead of us, and these guys need to be hungry! AND the play calling needs to improve. (Notice Houston climbing in the rankings? Hello, Tom Herman…?)

And on that note, go vote for Joshua Perry for Good Works Team Captain https://t.co/K79rfrfr8y

@dillow4fitness – My personal opinion has been the quarterback issue. I believe J.T. should’ve been starting from the get go so that he could get into a rythm. Last year he didn’t start out great, but really started to catch fire each game. And I’m sure Tom Hermans play calling is missed. However the nation expects to much out if them. Each game, they will get each teams best shot because they want to give them that first loss. I believe J.T.s suspended game set him back a bit,and the offense had to take a different direction for a game.

The defense is really starting to crank up the belt and work. What do you think has been the difference in the past couple weeks, especially on Saturday?

@Phil__413 – As for our defense, they have been phenomenal. We have enormous playmakers at every position, and our bench is so deep. We have young guys coming in and making big plays to give the starters a breather so we can keep them fresh. I’m very impressed by Hubbard on the defensive line, Schutt coming back will be big for them, of course there’s Bosa and Lee, but my favorite part of our defense is the defensive backs. They give up big plays every now and then but they are playing much better than last year, they buy time for the defensive line to get to the quarterback, and they make big plays when it matters. Saturday the defense played well as a whole. I give the defense an A.

@TheeRobMac – The defense has stepped it up week after week. They are the reason that the team is ranked high. Because right now the offensive style points ain’t there. I think the defensive line play is the biggest reason for the hard hitting silver bullets.

@SaintBuckeye – I believe the attention Bosa gets helps the defense extremely, you’re talking double and triple teams just to stop one man, that leaves two to three men untouched. Having the Silver Bullets playing lights out is definitely something I enjoy. This may have been the best defensive performance of the year but we did benefit from two field goal team mishaps (a missed kick and a dropped snap on the field goal) but defensively the Silver Bullets have certainly been fun to watch. Not to mention blocking a punt is always awesome.

@debbiecat4 – The defense continues to improve. Even triple-teamed, Joey Bosa made is presence known! Joshua Perry never seems to get the mentions, but he’s always solid. McMillan, Bell, Powell, Hubbs, Conley… every single defensive player made his mark. They seemed focused. And when they lose focus, that’s evident too (like Bosa’s 2 penalties).

So if Bosa is being triple-teamed, that leaves two players free to frolic about. My only complaint it that during an Illini drive in the second half, Lunt had so much time to get rid of the ball — SO MUCH time — and no one got to him. But that was one play, and some of my favorite players are on defense (*cough cough* Joshua and Tyvis), so I’ll forgive them. We’re going to need their focus against MSU.

@dillow4fitness – I believe the Buckeyes play better when they play better teams. I believe The Buckeyes will play the best ball of the year Saturday. They must pressure the quarterback back as much as possible.

Grade the teams performance and explain why.

@Phil__413 – My overall grade for the team is an A-. You always wanna see a lot of points scored but a win is a win. We are gonna get everyone’s best game and so far we have handled it well

@TheeRobMac – I would give the team performance a B+. Because they are playing sluggish and like I said going through the motions. Not trying to win big or pretty. They are doing just enough to get the win. The team has to let the defensive hold it down while the offense find its way to score.

@SaintBuckeye – A-, I feel the team effort was there on both sides. Gotta clean up the turnovers and the out of sync issues on offense. There were some lazy plays on both sides of the ball, Perry had a sideline mishap that gave up a first down. But for the most part, I felt like giving the team an A- is far. Could’ve easily scored two more touchdowns, one of which was due to the refs but A- it is.

@debbiecat4 – B+ Why? Good question! There were moments of pure excellence on one side of the ball, but until the other half of the team catches up (and I hope it’s this week), our defending champs will have to work a little harder.

@dillow4fitness – The offense grade I would give them would be an A. And that’s because they keep on winning. Not a loss since first game of the last year. The defense grade A plus!

What do the Buckeyes have to do to win against Sparty on offense and defense? Give a prediction of the final score

@Phil__413 – To beat Sparty we have to open up the playbook a little bit more than we’ve seen. Both teams have been accused of looking very vanilla and Michigan state is going to want to rectify their loss so it’s going to be a battle but I think this is when coach Meyer opens up his playbook a little and we play real Ohio state/Urban Meyer football.

I’m calling 31-17 Buckeyes.

@TheeRobMac – The Buckeyes have to play now. Their season starts Saturday. It’s all or nothing from here on out. You can say lose and go home for them. The offensive has to score big points. The Defense just has to keep doing what they been doing. Stopping the run and forcing them to make bad passing decisions.

Prediction: Ohio State: 45 MichSt: 17

@SaintBuckeye – Continue to feed Zeke, I think this week is where we see the arm of Braxton Miller… that is of course if the game is close in the 4th quarter. The next possible three opponents are teams that can flip a game by one play whether it’s a turnover defensively or a broken tackle that goes for a touchdown. I’ll say no matter who lines up as quarterback for Sparty it’s gonna be close in the first half, tie game going into half… but Zeke and the Slobs score three touchdowns in the second half and put it away.

35-24 final.

@debbiecat4 – I was hoping you wouldn’t ask this. If the offense can find their flow, and the defense continues to do what they’ve been doing, Sparty is going down. Connor Cook was injured during MSU’s win over Maryland and sat out the second half. I’m sure they just wanted him to rest up for their trip to Columbus. I think it may be close, but again, that depends on whether or not the offense can get that rhythm going. No score prediction, but I’m looking for another Buckeye win. Go Bucks!

@dillow4fitness – The score I predict will be 38- 17
