I cannot think of a better way to wash the bad taste out of our mouths than beating the crap out of TTUN. I would like to win it all again, but the Buckeyes are on the outside looking in right now. They don’t have any magic up their sleeves as they wait for help from other teams around the nation. For the time being, we are huge UNC and UF fans. Let’s see what the staff has to say about the awards this week!

Offensive

tOSU Offensive MVP

MDotySr – I’m going with JT and the zone read execution! He did a lot of great things out there Saturday!
Joe – Ezekiel Elliott cemented his place in Ohio State history as one of the top three running backs in school history with the greatest performance rushing ever against that Team Up North. That’s one heck of a feat to end the season.
Ken – Ezekiel Elliott; He had a legitimate beef after the MSU game then he backed up his comments with superb performance.
Patrick – Zeke- nothing else to say
Scott – Zeke. No doubt about it.
JC – Zeke. I loved watching this game. Zeke dominated. Urban was right as he said after the game in the post game interview when he said Zeke deserves a trip to NYC – to be part of the Heisman conversation. Absolutely!
Brandon – Zeke. It has been such a pleasure to watch this man turn into one of the greatest to ever play at Ohio State. What he did on Saturday was simply amazing.
Michael – oh that RB, what’s his name.. Elliott, duh
WVa – Ezekiel Elliott has marked himself down as one of the best to ever carry the football at Ohio State. Second all-time in career yards behind you-know-who, third in opponents yardage against TTUN behind Beanie Wells and Carlos Hyde and probably hurt them even more than those two because it was close for a half. I have bought my fist jersey since Orlando Pace because of him and ill wear it with pride for a very, very long time.

ZZZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKE!!!!!!

tOSU O-line MVP

Pat Elflein got to the second level and absolutely dumptrucked this dude #GoBucks https://t.co/b7TyCJLVrJ

— Paul Blogba (@Dubsco) November 30, 2015

MDotySr – I’m going with Elflein just because of his Tuesday call to Urban that started the renewed vigor and energy for “The Game”.
Joe – Everyone deserves a shout out for their unit performance against their rivals. I’m pretty sure J.T. Barrett and Ezekiel Elliott are still running.
Ken – The Fab Five. They imposed their will in the 2nd half.
Patrick – the entire group, best game of the year.
Scott – The whole unit played up to its preseason billing.
JC – All pitched in & played up to the dominance factor we heard of at the beginning of the season. Hats off to the big guys. Great job!
Brandon – I will go with Taylor Decker. A lot goes on behind the scenes with the slobs and I think Decker played the most pivotal role in having the line come together like they did.
Michael – all 5. They all deserve it.
WVa – It’s amazing the difference a week can make. Most everybody here struggled to come up with someone against Sparty and rightfully so! The offensive line must have really been ticked off because they manhandled TTUN unlike they had been all season.

To the SLOBS go the spoils

@EzekielElliott breaksfor a 66-yard scamper! https://t.co/aZlFOVsn7j #GoBucks

— Strength Coach D (@Playmakerz56) November 28, 2015

MDotySr – Jalin’s TD catch….pretty much got the momentum back to start the second half.
Joe – Ezekiel Elliott’s 66 Yard run was the first play that put fear in Michigan’s defense. From there, it was running down hill all day.
Ken – I agree with Joe. Zeke’s early 66 yard run set the tone for the game.
Patrick – Zeke’s 66 yard run in the 1st.
Scott – Zeke’s 66-yarder. Set the tone.
JC – I agree Brandon. The 66 yard dash by Zeke was fantastic but I MUST go with the catch by Marshall. We “completely” need more of this play-action in the “O”.
Brandon – That TD catch by Marshall was something we need to see more of. Good QBs let their receivers go up and make plays.
Michael – Marshall’s TD catch. Still not sure how he caught it
WVa – 66 yards through the soul of the Michigan defense has a nice ring to it. Maybe someone will make a tee-shirt? That one play may have actually done in the vaunted front seven for TTUN.

66 yards has the majority, Jalin’s catch was pretty sweet, too

tOSU Offensive Unsung

MDotySr – Chase Farris…..best game he has played all year.
Joe -J.T. Barrett bounced back against Michigan with one hell of a rushing performance. He conducted a great offensive attack.
Ken – I’m going with Curtis Samuel. He had only 41 total yards, but he did it rushing, receiving and returning.
Patrick – J.T.
Scott – Barrett. This is what we expected to see.
JC – J.T. With Zeke owning TTUN JT’s accomplishments were “missed”. J.T. stepped up and showed Buckeye Nation what we were accustomed to seeing of the Kid from Texas.
Brandon – Joey Bosa. He constantly put the offense in position to go for the kill.
Michael – Barrett. Great game management
WVa – J.T. didn’t get much credit for what took place on Saturday, his read option fake has come around and it’s the best in college football!

J.T. read fake takes home the award

Defensive

tOSU Defensive Bosanator Award

JOEY BOSA JUST KILLED A MAN

— The BBC (@The_BBC) November 28, 2015

MDotySr – Bosa, Bosa, Bosa!
Joe – Joey Bosa killed two men.
Ken – Joey Bosa’s box score numbers don’t reflect it, but he was nearly unblockable.
Patrick – Joey Bosa
Scott – Bosa. Wow. Just wow.
JC – Bosa. He showed us & the College Football World why there is discussion of his place in the NFL Draft …. didn’t I hear #1 overall!
Brandon – Joey Bosa. He was simply on a mission to destroy everything in blue.
Michael – Joey Bosa might be charged with manslaughter before this prints
WVa – If you paid attention, I renamed this award and from here on out it shall be simply known as the Bosanator Award. There wasn’t a better player on the field on Saturday. I have a feeling that maybe even Ezekiel Elliott wouldn’t want to meet up with Joey Bosa.

There haven’t been many unanimous awards this season here, but Joey Bosa has had them

tOSU D-line MVP

MDotySr – Aldophus Washington. What a consistent force all year. He was HUGE all game.
Joe – What didn’t you get about me saying Joey Bosa killed two men?
Ken – Adolphus Washington – he didn’t do anything flashy, but he did set the interior of the D-line.
Patrick – Bosa
Scott – Bosa. Wow. Just wow.
JC – Adolphus Washington was indeed quietly dominating. But again we cannot ignore the prowess of Joey Bosa. I have to tip my vote towards Big Joey.
Brandon – Joey Bosa. He wins it all this week.
Michael – Joey Bosa might be charged with manslaughter before this prints (Is there an echo in here?)
WVa – I love Adolphus but there’s no chance he came close to doing what Bosa did on Saturday. Washington has the success he does because teams cannot afford to double him when they are double and triple teaming Bosa. Washington is the second best d-lineman on the team but it is primarily because teams are so focused on the Bosanator!

Joey Bosa sweeps them this week!

tOSU Defensive Top Play

Joey Bosa Tip Interception Against Michigan

— Sports Vines (@SportsVine365) November 28, 2015

MDotySr – The Immaculate Interception by Bosa!
Joe – Joey Bosa’s pick was epic.
Ken – Bosa, but not for The Interception, because it was late in the game and it meant nothing. THE play was Bosa’s 3rd down sack of Rudock on UM’s 1st series in 3rd quarter. OSU had scored on the previous series and this sack stopped UM’s counterpunch. OSU’s subsequent 16 play 84 yd TD drive pretty much ended the game.
Patrick – Bosa’s int
Scott – Bosa’s pick. Wow. Just wow.
JC – Bosa’s pick was a moment of sheer excitement. I came completely out of my seat. But I agree with Ken. His sack of Rudock in the 3rd was the top play of the day.
Brandon – Joey Bosa pick was the moment I jumped out of my seat the quickest.
Michael – Joey Bosa’s INT was wrong on so many levels
WVa – I am in partial agreement with Ken here. The sack took whatever wind was left in their sails but the INT just about put the cherry on top. I was a little disappointed the Buckeyes didn’t score and then go for two just for old-times sake! Joey has had some plays before but he showed some ups on the INT.

Joey Bosa goes three for three

tOSU Defensive Unsung

MDotySr – Tyquan Lewis.
Joe -The interior defensive line hanging with the rush offense early on and then shutting them out completely late.
Ken – I agree with Brandon; Michael Hill provided a great complement to A-Wash.
Patrick – Tyquan Lewis
Scott – Secondary. Yes it gave up a lot of yards but it never gave up the big one.
JC – Joe – you are on target! The entire interior defensive line holding the rush played hard … completely understanding what THE GAME details.
Brandon – Joe…..er I mean Michael Hill. He got the start and gave the Buckeyes the big body to fill gaps in the middle. It is what the wanted but never got from Schutt.
Michael – has anyone mentioned Joey Bosa yet?
WVa – I tweeted how much I liked the Michael Hill kid and how much unsung he would be. Again a benefactor of Joey Bosa’s manhood on the field, but still played great along side of Washington.

Michael Hill takes this one because there’s no way Joey Bosa could also be unsung!

Odds and Ends

tOSU Special Teams MVP

MDotySr – Kerry Coombs, I think he earned it (in my Jack Nicholson voice).
Joe – Tim Beck. His lack of involvement was very special indeed.
Ken – Nothing really. UM miscues (screwed up coverage on their first punt and then the roughing penalty on the next series) helped OSU from being in a field position hole early in the game.
Patrick – Cam
Scott – Jalin Marsball. Always a threat. Michigan knew it too.
JC – Wow! Again I have to go with Joe. I was initially heading towards Cam Johnston. But Tim Beck’s lack of involvement highlighted my afternoon.
Brandon – Cam Johnston rugby style punt. Got that big roughing the kicker penalty early and helped set the stage.
Michael – The Ttun player who hit Johnston to get the roughing the kicker penalty
WVa – Maybe Sr. and I are the only two that see’s Kerry Coombs hair on fire prior to special teams taking the field on Saturdays. He gets to share with Cam this week as far as I am concerned.

Cameron Johnston wins by a hair, but props for the shot he took

tOSU Needs Improvement

MDotySr – Construction of a bigger coaches box so Fickell, Coombs and Johson can sit out there with the rest of the coaching staff.
Joe – Ed Warinner needs to improve walking up the steps or taking the elevator to the press box, because he’s going to be doing that all year next year if Urban doesn’t hire someone to replace Tim Beck.
Ken – Pass defense. my god, the pass defense.
Scott – Nothing specific. Good, solid win.
JC – Pass defense does need improvement – period. Again I like Joe’s assessment. Get in shape big guy! Beck – well the experiment failed. I hope the divorce is amicable. And most importantly I hope I am right!
Brandon – I’ve said it all year and I feel bad about it but Tyvis Powell has serious coverage issues. He had another rough day in coverage on Saturday….of course he wasn’t the only one.
Michael – Their ranking in the CFP rankings
WVa – The secondary lives by the sword and dies by it as well. There is a talented group back there and they have done pretty good with press coverage the whole year so the zone coverage was surprising especially since there were but two targets most of the day.

Secondary ills but is it the players or the play calling?

TTUN MVP

RT @SN_Ohio: THIS @EzekielElliott BLOCK https://t.co/V5ATVEZQsC

— Mekka Don (@MekkaDonMusic) November 30, 2015

MDotySr – I’ll go with Kalis as his billboard material was awesome.
Joe – The fans that left Michigan Stadium and provided a fourth quarter full of Buckeye chants. Thanks again TTUN fans, and I hope you didn’t forget your coke on the way out.
Ken – Split vote this week. First, Jabrill Peppers. He is one scary guy when he has the ball. Since his pass coverage skills are pretty crappy, expect to see him on offense next year. Next is FB Sione Houma. His stats were very FB’ish, but this guy was a real man when he carried the ball.
Scott – Jake Butt was tough early.
JC – Jabrill Peppers. I like this kid. Too bad he is a Wolverine.
Brandon – Ole Jake had a great day throwing the ball around until Bosa remembered that one time Rudock took his ex-girlfriend to prom and Bosa sent him to the sidelines.
Michael – All the TTUN fans who talked trash all summer and season that Harbaugh alone would make them beat us
WVa – Toss up between Butt and Chesson who both were able to get under the Buckeye’s skin in more ways than catching the football. There seems to always be a couple players that are going to test the restraint of Buckeyes players every year.

Butt and Peppers was hard to type together

B1G Coach MVP

MDotySr – I’ll go with Bill Cubit for somehow landing the Illinois gig full time.
Joe – I’ve been ripping him all year, but he found a way to get into the conference title game. Gomer Pile — I mean Kirk Ferentz did it again against Nebraska. He punted his way to undefeated in the regular season and that needs to be congratulated.
Ken – Urban Meyer: He is one hell of an offensive coordinator.
Scott – Urban Meyer. Circled the wagons.
JC – Urban Meyer. He got this deflated team back up to the level they “always” were capable of. He stepped in offensively and moved the ball. All in the most important game on the schedule. Most importantly he silenced the disillusioned heathens up North with their Wicca-style worshiping of Jimbo.
Brandon – Kevin Wilson. He kept the Hoosiers chugging along, even after 47 straight losses, to get them bowl eligible.
Michael – Dantonio. He won the East.
WVa – Urban Meyer is the best coach in the B1G and the funny thing is that he may finally win the award this season and be on the outside looking in for the CFP.

Urban Meyer is the readers choice too, I bet
