First, lets give credit where it’s due. Hat is off to Indiana for a great game-plan and Kevin Wilson for putting the program on the map. They appear to be defending their territory better and it’s not quite the Shoe of the West anymore. For three of the five weeks we have had these, the staff hasn’t been very happy! Just wait until you get a load of me tomorrow in RSB.

Offensive

BLOOMINGTON, IN – OCTOBER 03: Ezekiel Elliott #15 of the Ohio State Buckeyes runs with the ball against the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium on October 3, 2015 in Bloomington, Indiana. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

tOSU Offensive MVP

MDotySr – Zeke…no explanation needed.

Joe – #15

Ken – Ezekiel Elliott. We are almost to the point, not yet mid-season, to retire this award..

Patrick – Ezekiel Elliott. Really wanted to see him get 300 but the play calling decided to go against what was working. Go figure.

Scott – Zeke. ‘Nuff said

WVa – Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeke was very loud in Memorial Stadium on Saturday. You knew the work horse would find a miniscule hole in the line, get to the second level and break a long one. Three long TD runs in one game is unheard of. It will be interesting to see how close the race is with Fournette at the end of the season for the Heisman.

Ezekiel Elliott is unanimous as he should be!

tOSU O-line MVP

MDotySr – Pat Elflein was a “snot knocking” fool Saturday.

Joe – Pat Elflein played like the 2014 O-Lineman we all love.

Ken -.Elflein with his pulling & sealing on OSU’s 3 plays of the game!

Patrick – Pat Elflein. Was key on those power runs w his pulling into the hole.

Scott – I concur. Elflein.

WVa – Every long run by Ezekiel started up front and more specifically with Pat Elflien. The road grader had a pretty special day.

Pat Elflein makes it two for two in the unanimous department!

tOSU Offensive Top Play

MDotySr – The 4th quarter 75 yd run by Zeke. Did a lot on his own and game winner!

Joe – 75 Yards through the heart of Corn Country.

Ken – Any of Zeke’s 3 TD’s, but his last one, as Mike pointed out, was the game winner

Patrick – a 3 way tie between the 55, 65, and 75 yard TD runs by EZE.

Scott – 75 yard run.

WVa – 55, 65, and 75 right up the ladder and came close to getting another one close to the end of the game. This is a three way tie for me.

It’s officially a three way tie here, hard to decide with so many things of beauty!

tOSU Offensive Unsung

MDotySr – Chase Farris playing a solid game.

Joe – Jalin Marshall by default. Even with the dropped passes, he had the second best offensive game.

Ken – Not a soul

Patrick – not sure anyone gets anything here. The offense, Elliott aside, was abysmal.

Scott – boo!

WVa – I am going to go with Cardale Jones here. I feel like he’s taking an aweful lot of flack for something he has nothing to do with. Play-calling is still suspect, but I imagine they are staying Vanilla until they don’t need to.

Believe it or not the boo and not a soul will win out here.

Defensive

Man on a mission on Saturday

tOSU Defensive MVP

MDotySr – CO- MVPS Joey Bosa/Tyquan Lewis both made big plays for loss against the run.

Joe – Raekwon McMillan made major plays with a major Migrane

Ken – Tyquan Lewis and Raekwon McMillan share my honor this week

Patrick – Tyquan Lewis. Seemed to be everywhere and made plays when they needed it.

Scott – Tyquan was a stud.

WVa – Tyquan Lewis dominated in the first half and Indiana didn’t have an answer for it except for running away from him later in the game and the Buckeyes got caught looking the other way on the Diamont run. He played well enough Saturday to be all-B1G

Tyquan Lewis is coming into his own and is no longer unsung.

tOSU D-line MVP

MDotySr – Bosa/Lewis

Joe – Tyquan Lews got after it.

Ken – Adolphus Washington – his double digits in tackles were impressive and he stabilized the defensive center.

Patrick – Tyquan Lewis

Scott – A-Dub

WVa – Same as above, Tyquan Lewis was the star of the day on the d-line. There wasn’t much Indiana could do with him.

Tyquan wins two this week, with ease!

tOSU Defensive Top Play

MDotySr – Berger to read and stop the fake punt for a first down.

Joe – The Pass rush that shut down Zander Diamont on the last play of the game

Ken – Any play that didn’t involve pass interference or face mask penalties

Patrick – 4th down play to end the game

Scott – 4th and goal at the end

WVa – The play to end the game reflected a team under immense pressure facing a team under the same. The Hoosiers lacked in this situation and it showed with the bad snap. The Hoosier center had to decide who he was going to block and it appeared Ohio State was bringing the house straight up the middle.

The play to end the game takes the cake. Great pressure and coverage by the Buckeyes.

tOSU Defensive Unsung

MDotySr – Adolphus Washington was doing a lot of the little things.

Ken – Joey Bosa with 6 tackles, 2.5 TFL’s and 2 pass break up!

Patrick – Raekwon McMillan out there playing w a migraine.

Scott – Raekwon.

WVa – I don’t think Raekwon is getting the attention he deserves and is having an all-B1G type season. He will be leading the conference in tackles by the end of the season if he isn’t already!

Odds and Ends

Jalin Marshall of the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium on October 3, 2015 in Bloomington, Indiana.

tOSU Special Teams MVP

MDotySr – Jalin Marshall

Joe – Cam Cam he’s are man. Punt the ball and watch them scram.

Ken – Joe Berger’s stop on Indiana’s fake punt

Patrick – Cam Johnston. Flipped the field many many times.

Scott – Big Burger.

WVa -Cam Johnston is earning his leaves this season for sure. Taking care of the punts with one exception Saturday on a paltry 37 yarder, he still kept the Buckeyes in good field position by pinning the Hoosiers.

The Aussie will be one of the best punters at the end of the season, easy choice here.

tOSU Needs Improvement

MDotySr – Ball Security and Penalities

Joe – Every Mental aspect of the game.

Ken – Ball security, penalties and Red Zone play calling

Patrick – Dontre Wilson

Scott – what Joe said.

WVa – Discipline is not usually a problem with Urban Meyer coached teams, but then again maybe he wants them playing with a nasty edge regardless of penalties.

I am going to let Joe win here, mental part of the game is a struggle for sure!

INDIANA MVP

MDotySr – Diamont played pretty well coming off the bench.

Joe – Kevin Wilson. Despite the Fake Punt, he put his team in a position to win.

Ken – Zander Diamont came off the bench and damn near pulled off an upset

Patrick – Diamont. Came in for the injured Sudfeld and almost pulled off the upset.

Scott – Zander Diamont. He should be QB going forward.

WVa – As much as I hate to give ny credit to the little mouthy . . , nevermind. Diamont was a difference maker. We have seen teams lose their QB’s in games against us and were done. Not the Hoosiers and I believe they would be better off with him taking snaps.

Diamont wins it easy, no other players really showed up except for the TE and WR Jones.

B1G Coach MVP

MDotySr – Kirk Ferentz (probably about to sign a 10 yr, 100 Mil extension anyday now…LOL)

Joe – Bill Cubit. Just because Bill Cubit will never be mentioned in this section ever again.

Ken – Honey Fitz keeps Northwestern rolling.

Patrick – Kirk Ferentz. I guess he’ll remain in Iowa for another few more years and is earning yet another B1G coach of the year award.

Scott – Pat Fitgzerald. Awesome rebound season this far.

WVa – I Have to roll with Kevin Wilson this week. I believe that he has actually out-coached Urban Meyer over there the past two times and almost has the Hoosiers as a football program. Bowl game for the first time in forever and almost upset the Buckeyes for the first time since 1988!

Ferentz wins by default and really has Iowa football back where it belongs
