Super Bowl XLI: Who Wins the Coin Flip?

this reminds me exactly how truly naive I am in the world of real betting...
last year I was at a buddy's house who is a real gambler... and he calls and makes a $500 bet... I asked "was that to win?".. he said "no, that was for the coin toss"... I was stunned... never knew such a thing existed.. duh...

Wait a minute, lemme get this straight. Odds are 2/1, so if I lay down $50, I get $150 back for winning (my original bet, plus my winnings which is twice the original due to 2/1 odds. 'Cause at 1/1, I get $100 back on a $50 bet.)

So, uh, all in, half on one, half on the other, right? I can't possibly lose. With $1000 vbux, if I put $500 on both, it'd be the easiest $500 I could ever make.

If you put 500 on both, you'd get 1000 back no matter the result... which is exactly what you started with. Gotta "hedge" your bets with say... 350 on A, and 650 on B.
If A wins, you net 50
if B wins, you net 300
