Huskies | Huskies go with youth, pick USC's Sarkisian | Seattle Times Newspaper

Steve Sarkisian and the Washington Huskies wanted to wait a few more days to make their marriage official.
But a search that began Oct. 27 when it was announced that Tyrone Willingham would not be back next season culminated Thursday when the Huskies decided to offer their head football coaching position to Sarkisian, an assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at USC.
The Huskies may make it official at a news conference on Sunday, said a well-placed source. And they had hoped that the news would wait until then.

So, these guys apparently fell off the turnip truck just a minute or two ago.

No wonder it's become tough to win up there.

Well, if there's one place where you can compete for #2 in the Pac 10, Seattle is it. I don't look for USC's total dominance of the conference to end anytime soon. Stanford is too expensive, Cal doesn't draw dick, Wazoo, Oregon and Oregon State are stuck way out in the sticks and the Arizona teams must be eating loco weed.

I've always liked the Huskies, especially after being stationed at Ft. Lewis way back in the day.

Yep, but have you ever driven to Eugene? Take route 4 to Oxford, triple it in length, throw in lots of curves, add a swamp and some serious fog. You have to really want to get to Eugene.
Then it must be really tough to get to, since Rt. 4 doesn't go through Oxford.:)

:oh:

What Eugene are you talking about?

Fly into Portland. Head directly south on I-5 to Eugene. It's about as much of a straight shot as you can get.

Where the hell did I go wrong? I drove from Portland to Eugene, and yeah it was a pretty straight shot as the crow flies, but it was a pretty win(e)dy 2 laner to Eugene.
