St. Patty's Day - Chicago

BigWoof31

"Barkin' up the wrong tree"
Booked my tickets last night for my first trip to the windy city on St. Pat's. I've heard its beyond fun and starts early and goes late.

Any advice for first timers? Other than wear green, watch the parade and pack a couple of jimmys?

1. The day before the parade, go to either Binny's or Sam's and stock up on the pre-game essentials (booze, beer, booze).

2. Before parade, get drilled on carbombs

3a. Fill flask

3b. Watch parade with flask in hand

3c. Barf carbombs and pretzel necklace everywhere

4. After the parade, go up to Lincoln Park/Wrigleyville area and get drilled again.

5. Make a stop at Trader Todd's, have a beer with Ogre if he's there, act like a fool singing your favorite karaoke song, and hit up one of the 150 bars in the area.

*food stop at La Bamba*

6. Head down the the Gold Coast and party at the Hangge Upp till 5:30 am

7. Bring some fine young crease home

8. ...

I mean it wouldn't be mandatory but it would be cool to go see the original and have legit deep dish pizza.

Then you'd want to make sure you stopped at Gino's East or Giappo's. Uno's works, too but Gino's is the best. As for the Bulls? Don't bother, the atmosphere at a Hawks game is 10x what it is for the Bulls anymore.

I prefer Giordano's.

Didn't know you came to the Chi all that much, Jimmy. It's all good, if you want pizza that is. Hard to go wrong unless you walk into a Pizza Hut or something. Head over to Gibson's, Harry Caray's, or the Chicago Chop House if you're looking for some of the best steak you can find.
