Spaghetti thread (revised)

djtidebuck

Hang on Sloopy
As I stated earlier, I recently discovered Ragu chunky and to my surprise, I have discovered a new love for spaghetti. I thought it would be a good opportunity for people to share any food ideas that you might have.

Thanks,

dj

Cook Italian sausage and set aside
Saute one diced onion and one diced green pepper in olive oil
Add crushed fresh garlic towards end of saute
Add one can tomato sauce and one can diced tomatoes
Salt, pepper, oregano, etc. etc.
Simmer for ~10 minutes
Add pre-cooked sausage, simmer another 10 minutes or so
Don't let it get too dry - add water (or wine) if need be
Served over the pasta of your choice

Oh, and welcome back, Donny.

NP :)

Have you ever cooked chili rellenos? That's some good summer eats, especially if you grow your own peppers. I like them with poblano peppers.

Basically, you roast the peppers to get the skin to char and blister.
Run them under cold water to peel the thin, charred skin off.
Split the peppers open and remove the seeds.
Stuff the peppers with a blend of grated cheeses
Alternately dip the stuffed peppers in a beaten egg mixture and a wheat flour/corn meal mixture
Go back and forth between the egg and flour mix around two times until the peppers are well breaded.
Fry them up in a pan of hot oil (be careful! it'll splatter!)
Let cool, and enjoy with sour cream, guacamole and salsa.
